About why wide in 3-D looks "more accurate" to you, I think I replied to a very similar question you did about this. If you're watching a BD in "Wide" you're watching it in P3, I estimate P3 is about ~12% more saturated than 709 on average so maybe the combination of polarizers glasses dimming and your chroma adjustment setting makes it look better to you with wide... or that answer before. So maybe when jumping modes that setting is independent.
I resetted HDR Standard mode back to default settings and the original default settings (before ever switching back to ISF mode) has Normal Color Gamut. Was that a mistake on behalf or LG or I wonder if they meant for HDR Standard to be viewed in normal color gamut Last edited by RockyIII; 08-08-2016 at 05:27 PM. |

My theory is that the glasses in 3D mode tend to dim the picture and thus make colors appear little more dull, therefore forcing wide color gamut counters that, giving the impression of more vibrant-richer colors without overblowing them either... By the way, 3D Bright Room mode is set on Wide Color Gamut as default |

You shouldn't have to sacrifice washed out colors and decreased blacks to get 3D to look good. 3D shouldn't look monochromatic and quite a few titles do while their 2D counterparts are richly saturated with deep blacks. This is a big advantage of having the 3D and 2D versions on the same disc as those transfers are the same, many are not!
Oz: The Great and Powerful X-Men: DAFP The Wolverine Man of Steel Exodus: Gods and Kings G.I. Joe: Retaliation Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 300: Rise of an Empire Jurassic World All of these titles have desaturated colors and decreased black levels. Simply putting these discs into your player and putting them in 2D mode will show this and eliminate the glasses issue when comparing the differing masters the 3D versions are using. The key here is matching the colors on the 2D disc to the 3D disc. I have the color on my 3D ISF bright room bumped up to match. Normal settings in 3D ISF dark |

Rocky, I don't disagree with your assessment to use wide for 3D.
I do not use it as all 3D blurays using the Rec.709 color gamut so I use normal. Now the problem is many 3D blurays have greatly desaturated colors on the 3D version compared the 2D version. My 3D settings are identical to my 2D settings. My color is normally set at 55. For the above titles I use color set at 80 to closely match the saturation on the 2D version and it still isn't as saturated. This is also due to the fact the gamma levels aren't as deep as the 2D versions. Put the 3d version of the disc in and change it to 2D mode on your OLED to cancel out the glasses equation. Now put in the 2D disc at the same frame to see the 3D version is an entirely different transfer. I Use ISF dark for normal color and ISF bright for more saturated color. If I could only use 1 mode I probably would set color to 55 and gamut to wide. I will caution that unless using a setting of 0 for dejudder noticeable artifacting will occur. Even a setting of 1 will cause this and it is far more noticeable in 3D! Last edited by PRO-630HD; 08-08-2016 at 11:12 PM. |

I told the Mrs. that it hit the agreed upon price, and her first words were, "christmas is around the corner"...
I know prices drop significantly once the 2017s are announced at CES. Now I have to figure out whether I can wait or not... If the E6 had hit this price, I would of been sold already. lol |

Yup the price is right now but there's no sense of urgency. I want the OLED to rent 4k Blu Rays or 4k movies on Vudu. Neither of which can be done at a reasonable price right now, so I'll wait till at least Black Friday.
If Netflix's DVD.com service starts renting out 4k Blu Rays, that would be the deciding factor for me. Last edited by zubinh; 08-10-2016 at 01:46 PM. |

I need your cooperation here from any of you with either the C or B model.
Go to Standard Mode and make the following adjustments: Oled Light: 100 Contrast: 67 Brightness: 48 Sharpness: 0-10 (your choice here) Color: 50 Tint: 0 Color Temp: W40 Gamut: High2 Once you do that watch any content that you know usually displays compression artifacts near black, posterization, and color gradation issueS, and tell me what you think of it Last edited by RockyIII; 08-10-2016 at 02:45 PM. |

A good example is the show Agent Carter. I have that show both in bluray and on VuDu, and they both show the same posterization issues in the same scenes. A most evident one is in the opening of every episode, when the AGENT CARTER logo appears (the same I am using now as my avatar). The logo consists of different shades from black (outer side of the screen to green or whatever color the logo is). In regular settings I can see really bad color gradation and the transition from one shade to the next is not smooth at all (pixel lines between shades easily identifiable). With these new settings the "circles" are not identifiable and all you see is the black screen smoothly transitioning into the full-colored logo in the middle of the screen |

This is pissing me off...I am noticing frequent crosstalk when watching 3D...I played Jurassic World, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers:AOU and in all of them I noticed crosstalk in either objects in the background or objects right in front of the camera...Grrrrrrrr!!!!!

As we can see active 3D is dying very quickly and there is no need for them with 4K and they usually are more prone to crosstalk than passive sets. http://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/3d-tv...-vs-passive-3d |
