Since I am not really a fan of the WWA artwork, it not having a title and the fact this is WEA I will probably go with this one.

The artwork for Best Buy's exclusive steelbook looks amazing so far, and with reports stating that there will be embossing/debossing, it seems as if it would be tough to beat. Just curious as to what could possibly make this release the superior version especially with the likelihood of this costing more than Best Buy's version (sorry I've never purchased an international steelbook release before).

I hope it doesn't turn out like Ant-Man. That boring poster art front cover wasn't my cup of tea for the excessive BluFans pricing. I personally like the Hard Drive artwork 100% better... and at 50% the price point no less.

Also... Ant-Man artwork came WAY AFTER the retail release was completely sold out in stores. I want to be able to decide which version is better BEFORE I have to make payment for either.

Oh... you are not wrong. Normally, international steelbooks cost about $5 to $10 more to purchase (usually for shipping charges). These BluFans releases always cost between 2x and 3x the price of a retailer version. However, their packing/shipping method has a much much much MUCH higher success rate when it comes to "successfu delivery wothout damages."

I wasn't a fan of the hard drive artwork but do agree that it is better then the floating heads poster artwork. In any event I didn't purchase either because they didn't appeal to me.

And if you ordered from one of Kevin's groupbuys if you do get a damaged blufans he will do what it takes to get you a minty one.

Yeah, I've noticed that these international steelbooks cost at least $40-$50 depending on where they are being shipped. I just don't see the point of spending that much extra knowing that Best Buy will have a great release with title on the spine (as opposed to UK and other international versions having only photos of characters instead of title on the spine). Is it just the extra small stuff that comes with this version, such as booklet and case, that makes this release worth it to some collectors out there? Just wondering if I should start getting into these exclusive releases too

Ooooooooohhhhhhh.... you don't know about BluFans, do you? First, they are usually $60+ USD shipped. However, they DO NOT subscribe to that "pics on spine instead of title" mentality. Also, this release will have artwork that is available ONLY through BluFans where EVERYWHERE ELSE will have identical artwork across the planet. Also, they ship the steelbook in a box with enough bubble wrap to protect the steelbook in a fall from outer space.

So, they are more expensive, yes. However, they are more exclusive, more often than not they are also nicer artwork, and they are incredible for shipping protection quality.

Thank you so much for the helpful info!!! You were the only one that responded, so I really appreciate it! Now that you've explained it, I see why people would be willing to spend more than double the amount compared to standard US release. Has anyone ever reported even a minor damage to steelbooks from BluFans? Or are they known to be the ideal go to guys for perfectionist collectors out here?

i have to correct the poster before you a bit - while it's correct that usually blufans steelbooks have a certain premium feel to it you don't get anymore when you buy the standard WWA steelbooks, i have to say that they are far away from being " incredible for shipping protection quality. " i've had two damaged steelbooks from them so far, both resulted from too small boxes and insufficient packaging.
you will get the steelbook in 1-2 layers of bubble wrap, and then crammed into a carton box which looks usually a bit too small for what's in there.
far away from ideal if you ask me. it does the job in many cases, but it's just not "incredible shipping quality".
if you want to see what incredible shipping quality looks like, then you have to order from korean companies like kimchidvd, novamedia, plain archive.

There have been some damages, but they get replaced very easily on the rare occasion when it occurs.

Compared to every other retailer shipping steelbooks, BluFans is still amazing and incredible quality. I'd still take BluFans shipping package over Best Buy, Zavvi, any and all Amazons, etc.
