Yes! The theatrical subtitles are a must!!

Why do you want to talk about the same release in two different threads? This only causes confusion and useful information spread across two threads. Is it so hard for anyone outside the US to click on the UHD movies subforum?

At the moment the number of UHD releases is still small. If I would concentrate on European or even German releases I would miss a lot of good releases. I don't think this is different for Australia. And since UHD BDs a region free and in many cases identical worldwide importing them is not a big issue.

Creates confusion for who? Mostly American members that won't purchase the Australian version anyway. How many Australian or New Zealand members have commented in this thread so far, none, except for myself.

Jono3000 hasn't included an Australian flag in the OP, therefore as far as I am concerned, this is a general thread for the title, and not one specific for Australian and New Zealand members. Information about Australian release dates, pricing, sales/promotions, store availability etc (the majority of these things are not relevant to anyone other than Australian and New Zealand members, so why does it matter if they are posted in dedicated threads in the Australian and New Zealand sub-forum where the majority of members from these two countries regularly visit and hang out), being buried amongst other international members conversations about the title, isn't going to be of much help to the Australian and New Zealand community.

Jono3000 stated that he barely visits the Australian sub-forum, so obviously he doesn't really care all that much about learning about Australian releases anyway, and conversations between Australian and New Zealand members and our opinions. I'm sure what we discuss amongst ourselves in our little area of the forum won't really make much, if any, difference to you or anyone else that isn't from Australia or New Zealand.

Like I previously said, this sub-forum is mostly dominated by U.S. releases and members, and sometimes we want to discuss these sorts of things with people from our own region, because they can relate to specific things better than you or other international members can. Often members from our own region can be more helpful with certain things.

If you have problem with it, then take it up with Atexp80 or LordCrumb, the Australian and New Zealand Mod's.

Completely OT: Still confused why Australia needs their own threads/forums for releases that are international in nature. I get it for stuff released by companies/organizations that are native to AU/NZ, but for titles that are obviously going to be released in many other regions you're just diluting useful information and forcing people that may view an international release as a precursor to a domestic release in their part of the world to check multiple places.

It would be nice if the forum software could look for flag/national icons and include them all in thread titles, making them clickable to skip to the post within the thread to first use that icon (or even filter responses to just posts that use that icon). This would be similar to the new post icon that already exists.

On-topic: Can't wait for this movie, it's been a while but I recall the color in particular being gorgeous on this.

The action scenes look so fake and cheesy now. Almost laughable.

As opposed to all the wonderfully photo-realistic CGI in modern action movies nowadays?

A new listing has appeared in Amazon Canada saying it's a limited edition mastered in 4K but being twice the price of the same day mastered in 4K BD so it could be the 4K..

More than likely this entry is for the deluxe book version of the 1080p disc like prior Mastered in 4k Sony releases.

Best Buy seems to be the only one with the UHD Blu-ray for pre-order right now.

Agreed. The listings for this on Amazon Canada look like what was released for Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Fifth Element, and The Professional in October 2015. The cheaper one is probably the slipcover version and the more expensive option is probably the clear digibook packaging from the "Supreme Cinema Series."

It's still a good preview of what the UHD will eventually offer. Nothing wrong with checking it out, especially if it's free.

Never watched it in full before.

Flipped through a few scenes last night.

It's a little odd. The daytime scenes seem excessively grainy, in a strange way. Here's where it gets odd, the night time scenes were actually cleaner. Usually night scenes are more grainy. I thought the shadow detail and clarity and pop was excellent in the night scenes. I preferred those scenes over day scenes, ive never done that before. The uhd BD should be an improvement in all areas though.

It was shot on film I assume given its 2000 release date. I've noticed these 4K transfers from Sony of movies shot on film are very grainy. Ghostbusters on UHD and Bridge on the River Kwai on Netflix for example.
