No, but you posted saying that you were waiting for negative reviews and then posted a bunch as soon as you found them. You were determined to tell all us Saw fans in a thread about Saw V how bad it was before anyone even knew a single thing about the movie. Come on, man. Like what you like and let us like what we like. There's plenty of threads on this site.

I'm a huge Halloween fan so I went to see Zombie's remake on opening weekend despite it's horrendous reviews. Ultimately, I agreed with the critic and hated the film with a passion, but at least I saw for myself on opening weekend! |

I won't be paying to see this in the theater, but if it's on cable, I'll watch it. I just recorded Saw III in HD, will be watching it for the first time this weekend.
overall, the first 2 saw movies are average in my opinion. |

They very rarely pre-screen horror films cause critics typically do not like that genre. So, I never hold out for that.
Now, if a horror film does get pre-screened and / or gets great reviews too, then I am really excited. For me, the tortures are getting tiresome, but the plot twists are kepeing me coming back like a good tv series- wanna see what happens next. I just hope they truly had a grand plan or vision from the beginning that will end after part 6 with some huge story that was happening all along and you are like "oh shit" and have to go back and watch them all again to see how clever they are. But.... that is too much to hope for I am sure. In terms of the series- I liked 1 the best- stood on its own. 2 is the weakest until the end 3 and 4 I just re-watched and I love how they go together with the parallel plots going on and crossing up at the end of 4. Did think the whole manipulating Det Riggs was a little weak and was the worst of his attempts to 'save someone / open their eyes to appreaciate life". As far as I can tell for V, the police captain that escaped the electric chair device with Det matthews on the ice was in the middle of his own game and this was just part of what he needs to do in V. That special investigator that got locked in the room at the end of 4 is going to be running around trying to solve things, maybe in a game of his own run by the captain dude. |

Just got back from seeing it myself....not as bad as I predicted, they tried to tie everything together and surprisingly didnt do too bad with it. I expected less and got more, by no means am I saying this is a "must see" or a great film but mildly entertaining...yeah. If you enjoyed any of the Saw movies you'll be entertained.

I loved Part V myself. How they continue to add so much depth to the storyline with each part. Filling in information, answering question. While at the same time, deepening mysteries and opening up new questions. It has to be one of the richest and deepest horror films in... well, ever. And the ending rocked!
I'm honestly hoping that after Saw VI, we'll get a special Chronological version of the film released to DVD/BLU. I know it's unlikely, but damn would I like to just sit back and watch the story build and develop. |
