Anyone else find it a bit off that HMV will no longer give you the option to cancel an order for the Harry Potter steelbooks (1-4, released next week)?

They may have taken payment already from bank accounts but it hasn't reached its release date yet and some of us may have decided last-minute for whatever reason to cancel.

I have been unsure myself for a while whether to cancel my order or not because I'm about to make a big purchase. Guess now I'm just going to have to accept it because the order page shows payment has been complete and therefore will have been sent out.

Puts me off ordering from HMV in future.

Its not HMV's fault....Zavvi would have taken payment for blu ray releases out on Monday by now, as would Zoom and many others...its only amazon in the UK that ship the day before. You'll have to be quicker off the mark

I hadn't decided whether I was going to cancel or not. Too late now. Thought I had until release date/day before to decide like with other sites like Big Finish and Amazon.

Picked these up today, not the greatest looking tbh and they could've done a lot more on the artwork but I always said I'd pick up HP Steelbooks if they made 'em. See you guys in October for round 2.

I think they'll look pretty when there's a full collection rather than individually.

Nope they are not. They are region free. Warner has never ever locked a disk. All their titles have been region free since day one.

Oh wow this is good to know. I had emailed HMV and they told me they were region locked.

I personally would never trust the stores. They probably just being safe in stating that they are locked to the region they live in rather then just finding out if they are region free or not. I had some that stated B and were free and the odd one that had ABC and was locked.

Warner, Universal, Paramount Never locked their disks, Disney and FOX did lock when they started and dumped it and been region free. I not seen a locked disk from them in a while. Sony on occasion might but they are hit and miss. Lionsgate, EIV and E1 always lock.

I just picked up the remaining 4. Here's how they look on the shelf...

Annoyingly, I think my copy of Deathly Hallows Part 2 has a mid-printed WB Logo.

They look great together. That's pretty annoying about the WB logo. They've done so well with the whole set, and it's a shame that there's one tiny error at the end.

If anyone else picked it up, could you check yours and let me know if it's the same as mine?

I recently ordered all 8 of them off Amazon.it for $86 shipped, I can't wait to own actual steelbooks of these movies after having watched them 10000x each. They arrive on Wednesday so if mine also have a mis-matched WB logo I won't be surprised now haha.

It adds a bit of character to the last movie in the book series in my opinion.

*cough*

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Un-lo...-Blu-ray/7020/
Region B (locked)

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Agora-Blu-ray/10524/
Region B (locked)

etc.

Why is this repeated over and over. Sure, the probability that it's locked is pretty low, BUT IT IS NOT ZERO.
There are a few Warner Bros Blu-rays, which are in fact region locked. Some, where it doesn't even make sense at all.
A very long Engagement for example was released by Warner the DVD in the states as well. And what's worse is that there wasn't any other release and the locked one from France is actually OOP now.

I've never encountered a WB Blu-Ray steelbook release that is region locked, so I will assume that they are all region free until I find one for myself that is region locked. A few obscure titles that are region locked is a drop in a very large bucket.
