I am leaning to yes it will be different, at least in the sense that it will have two disc hubs (Its a 2 disc set), and most likely it will be glossy (All Warner Bros. "Christmas Steelbook Titles" have been, Scrooged, Elf, Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation). Now for the art itself, I don't know.

I used to watch this movie with my oldest grandson over and over again when he was younger. He used to come in my room and say "hey grandpa can we play The Polar Express again". Well of course my young grandson. So then we would watch it and then we would pretend we were actually on The Polar Express. All aboard I would say, and away we would go. I love that kid.

I'm going to have to buy two of these, one for me, and one for him. It will be his first steelbook. I can't wait for Christmas.

I expect it to be glossy and like you said have the second disc but not sure that would be enough for me to replace the CA steelbook. The only thing that would make me ponder it is if the artwork was different.

I'm willing to bet this artwork will be more akin to the standard US cover art.

If that is it I would end up getting it and then just giving my CA steelbook to my niece and nephew who love the movie. Now that I think about it, I will probably do that regardless just so they can have this movie to watch when they want to.

How old are they?

Why would you give a steelbook to a child? After a few days, it would look/feel like an Amazon France or Spain steelbook after it ships.

Or worse. It would look like the Polar Express itself ran over it.

They are young but if I get a better version I couldn't care less what they do with the one I give them...I just want them to have the movie and if the US steelbook is nicer than why not.
