It's lowered prices all around and has caused studios on both sides to step up their game in quality and extra features. Case in point - do you really think that Sony would have come out with a new and improved version of The Fifth Element (complete with free trade-in program for those that bought the first version) a mere year later if not for the format war? I honestly don't believe that would have been the case.

I'm not defensive in the slightest. I just find it amusing that you felt it necessary to tell another grown man what was in his best interests - that's all.

and again...I love spending other peoples money...let me know what else you want to buy and I'll correct you into the right direction...

To the OP: if you have a MySpace dedicated for BD and you've been PWNing HD-DVD all this while, getting a HD-DVD player right now would make you a hypocrite even if it's such a "deal". And since you post this thread and people have responded and read it, others may call you that as well. So it's up to you, really.

You can have an opinion and you can say that you are wrong for having that opinion. But having an opinion then doing the opposite to your opinion is just incendiary.

This really goes to everyone really on any divisive topics you've sided one way or another on online forums or websites. Be sure that your knees are ready for the grovelling before you can have your respect back from the people who've read your posts/websites.

No, but you did say, "if you want to invest in high-def discs, the best idea ...for yourself is to support only one side..." suggesting you knew what "the best idea" for him was.

Again, it's only "wasting money" in your opinion. I get a tremendous amount of use out of both of my players and plan to continue to do so for many years. Why not let others decide for themselves whether or not they're wasting their own money?

Steeb, do you enjoy arguing back and forth on endless pages with people? This is the third such thread I've seen you do it. Don't make my PM box get filled.
