Figures. Just a way to make some extra coin by people "double dipping" off of purchases.

What extra "pieces" were in Phase One and Two collections that were NOT released in the regular releases of the individual films? Was it that much of a difference for extra content? Just curious (& THX for the info)...

What, the piss-taking 'take a Thunder God to work day' skit? Really?

I noticed at least ONE member here reporting that the mix IS as bad as Age of Ultron; I can't see how that's possible, but I hope you're in the "right" camp on this one, Indiana!

At any rate, I'll be picking it up hopefully on Tuesday (if funds allow), otherwise on Friday.

Quick Query (and I apologize if this was answered somewhere else in the thread):

It seems that, after doing some online research, Civil War won't be offered with any kind of special packaging either at Target or Best Buy (the 2D Blu-ray version)...is this true? It's not even getting a slipcase?

The 2D releases haven't gotten a sleeve since (I believe) Thor: The Dark World.

My Dark World disc didn't have a slipcase, either; I know Disney and its Buena Vista distribution arm have been "dumbing down" their BD releases in terms of packaging, offering almost every title with no special holographic slips, etc. (remember the days of the first Avengers? While I wanted a real special package for that, at least we got a holographic slip!) but I would have thought Civil War would come with some kind of out-of-the-ordinary packaging...

Yeah, I just took a gander at the links supplied in the first post of this thread; that really sucks that only the 3D version is getting that ultra-cool steelbook via Best Buy...THAT would have been an awesome 2D buy!

You can buy a 2d civil war steelbook also. It costs the same as the 3d version. All you do is buy the steelbook and then remove the 3d disc and you now have a 2d steelbook.

Thanks for the smart-ass reply!

I'm seeing $27.99 for the Best Buy Steelbook I'm referencing -- which I'm NOT paying -- and $22.99 for the 3D version (at Best Buy), $24.99 for the 3D at Target...

I don't think that's actually supposed to be in continuity, just a fun thing the cast and crew of Thor: Ragnarok made during filming. I guess we'll see if it works when that movie comes out.

I don't know why people want the Thor short to be canon, I don't think Thor would goad Cap into killing prisoners, and Cap wouldn't do that to start with. Not to mention Thor's off doing Infinity Stone research, I don't think he'd go live in Australia.

Does anyone else never get release day shipping with their Prime membership? For some reason Amazon ships my orders the night before release day and I don't get them until the day after.

They used to ship Sunday night but now it isn't until Monday night, making my packages come Wednesday. I've had to contact Amazon support about it 3-4 times in a row now. Release day shipping is one of the only reasons I've had Prime and it is getting pretty damn old at this point.

Yep, I had the same problem with this release. I chatted with Amazon support yesterday and they upgraded my shipping speed to 1-day, so it should be here tomorrow. Still frustrating.

Mine ships on Mondays sometimes, but that's because Amazon has a warehouse only a couple hours away from my city so it still gets here in time

I always find the complaining about the higher price on the Marvel Steelbooks to be a moot point. You're paying for premium packaging and limited edition packaging at that. I don't have a problem paying $3-$5 more for the Steelbooks because a) they're very nice, b) they are always in demand (eBay prices will tell you that) and c) they could stop making them and we could all be forced to pay the prices for BluFans and the other imports, granted they make them a little worth more for their money but at the end of the day, it's premium packaging that's limited.

Also Marvel has been doing Steelbooks only for the 3D+BD releases for 2 years now, it's not going to change.

If you don't want to pay $27.99 for the Steelbook, then don't? It's not that hard. There's a single disc release for $19.99 everywhere and the 3D pack for a few dollars more at other retailers.

I too have noticed they've begun waiting to ship until Monday, but so far they've still arrived on release date. Civil War is still showing an arrival date of tomorrow.

If I don't get this and The Conjuring 2 on release day I'll do the same. It is so annoying.
