Hmm, so everyone who buys the collection will get the code for the black and iron Gjallarhorn....not just the pre-ordered versions. Interesting. But I wonder if the RoI DLC digital download will come with it, even if you don't pre-order it. To me it doesn't matter, because I already pre-ordered the DLC digitally.

I already have a disc laying around the ONLY reason I will get a physical copy again is if I can trade it back day of release for at least $30 Since I pay $48 for a copy with my GCU membership at best buy. Plus I can split cost of digital copy with friend.

I like benefits of digital but until they can offer me a 20% off at launch price, and the abiltiy to trade in not really interested in digital since I only really play 1-2 games at any given time.

The one awesome benefit of digital is sharing which I do. I made an in depth video about all this stuff a while back here you can skip to the 10 min mark to see me explain family share, but key point is friend and I can share any digital purchase and ps+ membership, ie if one of us gets rise of iron we both get it.

I haven't played Destiny since the 1st raid Vault of Glass and traded it in 2 months after launch.

Am I too far behind? Most of my friends list have gone back and they said I'm too far behind to even bother. I was thinking about getting The Collection next week but now I'm not sure.

No, I wouldn't say you're too far behind. I created a sub account of my PS4 and started playing Destiny from the very beginning again. (Main reason I did this was to try and do the refer-a-friend quest, but it doesn't look like it's going to work.) Anyways, I went from level 1 to level 40 (light level 229) in less than 16 hours. So you can definitely jump back in, especially now that the game is much easier to level up now.

They give you a level 40 character boost with the collection and/or rise of iron DLC, the only thing you missed out on really is the random events associated with each DLC on the free roam maps, or during the holiday events.

The hard part is going to be finding people to run thru the campaign if you want to play it Co-Op (you can run it single player) and the crota and kingsfall raids are bound to get less popular unless they add more gear at the new light levels. I don't know if they did that for TTK.

Has anybody else gotten the "Splendor 2.6" perk? It looks like a bunch of swirly fireflies flying around your head. It's a buff, and says on my character screen: "Splendor 2.6 has been transmitted to you. Increased XP and reputation gains for the duration of transmission."

I took some screenshots of it on my PS4, but I don't know how to put it on here. It's being talked about on Reddit.

EDIT: I got this buff after going into PoE 28. First, I saw one person with it, and then the other random teammate got it. And then towards the end, I got it. There's a lot of talk and speculation going on right now on Reddit. People are talking about "owl sector" and this website: http://owlsector.bungie.net/#en

EDIT 2: This buff seems to be an "infection", and there's 5 of them. Basically, one guardian passes it to another. That's how it spreads.

I was at level 29 when I left, I have deleted stuff but I can't remember. Have to take a few days off next week so I would have some time to play catch up. My next game is Battlefield so would have a month if I wanted. A friend at work told me about the easier leveling up too.

Didn't know about the character boost. The campaign won't be a problem, I'll go thru alone. But are those raids necessary for certain items?

Raids are just a really fun way to play thru game with friends. Yes you can earn high end gear, but as before you can still earn gear via Xur, and pvp and pve, and even now prison of elders, iron banner, and trials of Osiris, weekly strikes etc, and whatever new stuff they are launching with rise of iron.

So its just another avenue to get gear, the real question will be is it worthwhile to play old raids unless they update the raids to dole out gear at new light levels.

As for character boost you DO NOT have to use it with your current character you can even make a fresh one (mind you that you will have to run thru first mission with that character).
You can probably easily level up for 28 character over a couple weekends and also have an alternative character. I personally have a main warlock lvl 39, and like a level 35 hunter.

Just nice to have the variety and can really come in handy if mid raid or mid prison of elders you team decides that they need an new type and you can just swap out and come back in.

I do the family share thing, too, across 2 consoles. I have a question which I didn't see specifically covered in the video (apologies if it's there and I missed it).

Do you know if the Iron Ghorn and Sparrow for preorders will also be a shared thing? I think in your video you said "additional content is also shared" but I'm not sure if that applies. I couldn't find a definitive answer on this. The question was also asked on the Bungie and Reddit forums, but no answer since I last checked.

that answer will depend on if the dlc is given digitally via psn store like dlc add ons, unlikely in my opinion as the past few times I have gotten codes for shaders, it was a code that redeemed via bungie.net and therefore directly into your destiny account not PSN or Xbox.

So short answer: probably not. Thats why I am happy im the one buying the game But I may just ask support for another code and explain family member on shared account but thats going to be YMMV from bungie themselves.

Ok thanks. It wouldn't be too much for me to preorder another copy as I have a $20 credit at GameStop. But I dunno if that would work either, as there's only one PS+ account on the primary console and the subs all share it. I'm not 100% certain that redeeming a 2nd copy on a sub account that doesn't have PS+ would end up having the game locked for the multiplayer content like it normally does if you don't have PS+ on the actual account.
