It should look good in 3D, but The LEGO Movie had horribly conservative 3D, so I'm not expecting any better from The LEGO Batman Movie. I'll be waiting for the 3D blu ray rather than wasting money on an underwhelming theatrical presentation.

Saw this in RealD3D last night at newish AMC, with a large screen, would also argue that this was moderate 3D, at best. It's about what you would expect from the first one. So if you loved the 3D before, you will love this too. If you didn't, check your expectations.

The screen was reasonably bright, but owning a 4K HDR set, I would have preferred a brighter 2D viewing with colors that pop, which would add a lot to a movie like this. Overall, I would give the 3D 3.5/5. I was more impressed with the subtle depth effects, as it was lacking memorable pop out or gimmick moments.

So this got a Perfect 3D score..... has anyone else seen this yet to confirm the high 3D scores are accurate or not ?

Thanks for the info. That sounds hopeful.

Someone who goes to see it will have to let us know.

A lot of what they write about 3D is just baffling, even when I somewhat agree with their numerical score.

Take their Sing review for example.
http://www.cinemablend.com/news/1602...ht-sing-ticket

First, the writer judges whether or not the story is appropriate for 3D or not, which is ridiculous because you can tell any story in 3D if you shoot it right. Then he talks about how difficult it is for animated movies to make full use of 3D, when nothing could be further from the truth, and how Sing is some kind of exception. Then he scores the pop-out category 5/5 for having one pretty good pop-out in the entire movie. Later he rates how bright his theater's projector was and assigns that score to the movie. I seriously doubt he fully understands how blurring in a glasses-off image actually relates to the stereo glasses-on image. Then he rambles on about how watching Sing's 3D might require some sort of adjustment period for your eyes, but how it still receives full health points because its one of the 3D films that won't make you vomit.

The way their writers experience and think about 3D is completely foreign to me.
Thanks for the head's up on some of their 3D reviews. I agree, we need Cinemablend reviews from those who are fans of 3D and have experience with what they're seeing. If there are some of them on there, hopefully they can pass along their knowledge to those new to 3D reviews on that site.

Cool, thanks for the 3D details. That sounds pretty good; mostly medium 3D from the sound of it.

Just got out of The Lego Batman Movie and agree the 3D resolves moderately when seen theatrically which was the same for The Lego Movie. But, I will definitely get this on Blu-ray 3D when released as The LEGO Movie 3D resolves beautifully with the consumer LG 65E6P 3D/4K OLED at home.

Was very impressed with the strong 3D preview trailer of the movie coming-in-July of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets:

Saw it in Real 3D this afternoon but I don't think I saw the same movie as Cinemablend. I agree with noname and Paul H, the 3D was just OK. No popouts that I can remember at all. Depth was medium. Just a meh presentation. No scenes really stood out to me. I agree completely with Paul H, the trailer for Valerian looked incredible. Can't wait for that one just for the 3D.
