Going to see this tonight. Rewatched the original a couple of nights ago and the last 20 minutes still gets me.

Hope a steelbook for the original is on the cards!

this movie is actually pretty good! it was great to get a break from the James Wan movies and actually see a horror movie.

If you don't like James Wan movies you should stop watching them!

James Wan isn't directing a 4th Insidious.

I'm just messing with you man.

But I consider a James Wan movie anything he directs, produces, or watches.

Riiiiight.

Leigh will most likely be doing Insidious 4. I wasn't a huge fan of what he did with 3, but at this point I'm somewhat invested in the story.

James has only directed a handful of "his" films. They are arguably some of the best horrors of recent years. The sequels/spinoffs that he doesn't direct (Insidious 3, Annabelle) aren't amazing but certainly better than some of the other tripe that turns up in the cinemas pretending to be horror.

Anyway, enough off topic. This isn't even a Wan film!

Zavvi responded to someone on Twitter earlier confirming they will be releasing a steelbook of The Blair Witch Project also.

It's basically a remake. It's a sequel that follows the EXACT SAME path the first movie does. It's like watching a modernized version of the first film.

Also, I knew what this steelbook was going to look like before clicking on the thread. Very unoriginal, un-inspired, lazy poster artwork.

Its a sequel where the lead guy goes back to the woods looking for his sister (from the first movie)

Calling this a remake is like calling The Force Awakens a remake of A New Hope...which, while I can understand the reasoning in some respects, still isn't true. I get where you're coming from with that take, though.

fixed that for you

in a sense it's what Hollywood would normally spit out a year after a success like the original Blair Witch Project

If I remember correctly, it even pulled an Episode 1, where it retroactively made the original movie worse (*cough* stupid "modern" sound effects added to original scenes of the first movie *cough*)
