German is only missing the 4K UHD, it does look to have more extras though.

I doubt it brotha, which is why I'm only picking up Fury Road/Black & Chrome edition since I already own the Mad Max trilogy.

i was once shown this image from the b&w version of fury road
[Show spoiler]

anyone certain of its validity?

Edit: okay had to find the source,

it comes from Will McCrabb, an "industry insider." now it's possible his info is off, but that's what he posted

Since there is color in the image, I'd say it is not from the b&w version.

It just looks like a normal Fury Road screenshot run through an Instagram filter. Probably not genuine.

I am interested to see how they handle the night stuff in the new version. Is it gonna be normal black and white like the rest of the film? Tinted blue again?

Hmm. He describes it as "b&w/sepia/color," when everything we've heard so far indicates it's pure black and white. That seems very suspicious.

On the other hand, like you said, he's an insider, and he did post this previously-unseen poster a few days ago:

I honesty have no idea what to think. I hope we get a trailer or something soon, so we can see it for ourselves.

EDIT: What could be happening is Miller has placed full-image tints over the film, which was a common technique in old silent films. But, again, we've recieved no indication that Miller has done so, outside of this one image. We don't know where McCrabb got the image from, nor what sort of processing he applied. The movie could very well be "pure" black-and-white, but he just put an Instagram filter on the image, or he shot it off a projection or something.

I love that monochromatic look way better than a pure B&W rendering. Suddenly I feel like I may be interested in that version

Maybe I'm stupid, but couldn't I just turn down the color of my TV and achieve black and white on my own?

No.

This is what you get when you turn the saturation down:

And this is what you get when the image is properly adjusted:
