Why is it in black and white?

Is it an artistic decision? A financial decision? I just don't understand why a movie would be shot like a modern movie and then make it black and white.

Edit - I just looked it up and it was shot on a Red Epic Dragon. So the choice to make it b&w was done in post. Why?
