Huge letdown for backers imo.
Well, we do get two versions of Creepshow 2, so that's a little cash in your pocket on the resale market if you sell the non-LE. Plus Guyver is region-free, so you can still buy/watch it if you're region-locked.

It just seems like they waited too long to get into the US game. Labels like Shout!, BU, Severin, Synapse, and others already had most of the higher profile and desirable titles licensed for the US, which is why we've seen a bunch of B and C level Japanese gangster films, 80s titles like The Stuff and Microwave Massacre, and 70s horror films that most people have long forgotten about. Meanwhile, they continue to release lots of gems U.K. only, whether through the Video or Academy lines.

I'll definitely be ordering the Guyver and Hellgate, but now I'm giving Arrow more money (though I'm already in the black as a 5-year backer, considering how much buying them all would cost plus what I've been able to sell)

My MO as of late is to immediately preorder any limited edition UK exclusives so I don't miss them, and then wait for the eventual Arrow sales where titles go down to 7.99 quid or so. I do that for all Academy releases.

Have to say though I'm in no rush to pick up any of the recent woody Allen releases because I just recently pretty much finished my entire Woody Allen collection with mostly region 2 PAL DVDs and they look great to me and there's something about a lot of his 70s films that I don't mind not having them in HD. I got some German 5 movie Blu collection of his really cheap a couple years back.

Then again I've barely even watched any of them yet so if I end up really loving some of the ones that arrow has put on Blu-ray I'm sure I'll go back and double dip later

I received a shipping notice yesterday, so assumedly that'll be Slugs and Hills Have Eyes arriving tomorrow.

Edit: Or Slugs and Vamp, with the 10/11 Hills and Dark Water arriving next week. It would be great to receive all four, but that seems unlikely. Still, there have been plenty of reviews for Hills, so maybe that will be included after all. I haven't seen any Dark Waters reviews though. (That's one I'm looking forward to seeing for the first time.)

Or it might just be Slugs or one of the others. That myusps shipping notice should include details as to whether the package was sent first class or media, and the MVD Overlords only seem to opt for first class when the package doesn't exceed the 13 oz limit (usually meaning no more than two standard-sized BDs).

It's first-class, so I guess just Slugs and possibly Vamp.

MyUSPS doesn't work for some reason. I don't get notices. Don't know why. Tried everything. Checked boxes. Signed out and signed back in. Checked boxes again. Still no emails.

Oh well.

It's usually stuff for my wife or the new baby anyway, so with most notices I wouldn't be missing much.

Anyway, I'll update with what comes in the mail if I get the package today -- I think I usually get my stuff a day earlier than most, but who knows with MVD anymore.

Great releases on the horizon though in the next couple months!

There are some great bits of nonsensical dialog. My favorite is, and I'm paraphrasing, after the woman asks her husband if he wants to get some lunch, he replies 'Nah, I'm not hungry, and I have to go look at some houses after we eat.'

Vamp arrived by its lonely self today.

Well, that's something at least. Still frustrating, though, with Hills Have Eyes already showing up in some corners of the non-Gold-Plan-backing world.

FWIW, Hills just came in stock at MVD today, so probably sometime next week and it's still before official street date of 10/11. Usually a good indicator of things coming for y'all is when these things come in stock at MVD. Vamp came in stock on Monday.

The only reason I keep up with them is to try and figure out when my Diabolik orders ship.

Today is Pre-Shipment Info Day in lovely Pottstown, PA, so The Hills will soon look down on Dark Water. Plus, don't forget, the mammoth HGL Gore box (RIP Mr. Lewis) will soon be landing with a thud on our collective doorsteps, so start finding a proper place to display your individually handmade eyeball!

Are we getting both HGL sets? I can't remember if that was confirmed.

So, I guess FedEx will be delivering that - they handled the box that had Bride of Re-Animator, Gangster VIP, Zero Boys and a couple of other releases. I'm assuming the two sets will weigh about 50 pounds. I'm taking a cab home that day.

I would be shocked (and gored?) if there wasn't an inevitable delay on at least one of the HGL sets, if not both.

I haven't run the numbers or anything, but it seems since Arrow started here in March 2015, about 75% of anything LE has been delayed.

I hope I'm wrong, as it'd be great to have both HGL sets by Halloween, but my glass-half-empty self -- the one that also considers that possibly former LE delay truth -- isn't holding my breath.

Just The Hills Have Eyes, folks.

Makes no sense to me as to why Dark Water isn't there also, but alas.

Hopefully that'll be here sooner than later though -- really looking forward to it.
