Well, at least in this case it's not something forced considering that Magnum did have a daughter, as the article points out. And I like the idea of sequel series more than I do out-and-out reboots, so my curiosity is piqued a little with this project.

Thomas Magnum's daughter was actually established very early in the series, so this is not something that John Rogers and Eva Longoria pulled out of thing air and his daughter did make follow-up appearances in the original Magnum P.I. series. I would hope that Tom Selleck could make guest appearances on the series, along with John Hillerman, Larry Manetti and Roger Mosley. Larry and John reunited with Tom Selleck in the final season of Las Vegas when they got together for a poker game and it would be a nice touch to add the original cast in a guest appearance.

If the series is done right, and not for the sake of a rebooted series, then it could fly. But it should not be done just for the sake of doing it. Need I remind everyone that there are many projects that have been discussed that still haven't lifted off into production yet: Bewitched and A-Team spring to mind. Just because this is being discussed, doesn't mean that it will receive a production order. Just remember, Murder She Wrote was on the verge of being rebooted until Angela Lansbury joined the dissenting ranks and forced NBC Universal to scrap the series.

Just because a rebooted classic series is being developed doesn't mean that it will receive a production order.

I'll check it out. I hope we see a Ferrari cameo. That's almost certain right? The writing and the characters were so good on the original. They had great chemistry. I love old TV show theme songs. Did You See the Sun Rise was an amazing episode. Remember those rings they wore? Great memories.

Well, this series wouldn't be Magnum without the red Ferrari. It would be interesting to see if Magnum's daughter is connected to the Robin Masters estate in some fashion.

Selleck is pretty passionate about the Magnum character.

He's been wanting to do a Magnum feature film for years with no luck.

If they manage to get an approval to shoot a Pilot, they have to get Selleck to at least guest star in it to help launch it and give it continuity. Only problem is getting CBS's approval to use him since he still works on Blue Bloods.

I doubt that Tom Selleck would need to get approval for it. He might have to inform CBS that he wants to appear in the pilot episode or whatever but I don't think Selleck would have a problem in getting allowed to appear in the pilot episode.

I'd give this a shot. Tom Selleck's the kind of gentleman that would definitely be up for returning to his Tom Magnum roots.

I didn't expect the Hawaii Five-O reboot to be that good, but it is quite reasonable with what it does. If this show follows in a similar vein or better, it can be quite exciting. We need another show that takes place in Hawaii.
