They've been saying that since it first arrived years ago, but I agree 3D gives a much more noticeable difference compared to 1080p vs 4K.

The only challenge with this film in 3D, is that Disney may not release the blu ray 3D in the US.

Ha, the jungle book made $950 million worldwide and we still didn't get a usa 3D release. I think we'll be buying this from overseas if we want to see it on 3D blu-Ray.

Good point. It boils down to the decision maker in charge of Disney home media for the live action 3D making the decision to hold off on blu ray 3D in the US, compared to the animation 3D division for home media, who were able to release Zootopia 3D, directly from Disney, which was very unexpected (separate from Disney's Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm 3D). At least that's how it seems, since we can't see what's going on behind the scenes.

But yes, as others mentioned, it's nice to at least have the blu ray 3d option elsewhere.

I don't like the Jungle Book remake but I have high hopes for this. And I hope the 3D is just as good as it was for the 1991 animated version. Which for me is still one of Disney's best.

The 3D in B&TBeast cel animated looks awesome from start to finish and noticeably stronger than The Lion King's 3D conversion. I haven't seen Little Mermaid's 3D, as I was waiting for a price drop that never happened from what I saw, starting at $34.99.

I would like more cel animated feature movies from Disney, but I guess that's not going to happen much anymore.

I still have yet to watch The Lion King in 2D. It been in my collection for a while now.

Hated The Little Mermaid so never wanted to watch that one. I can't even think of what was the last Disney cel animated feature.

Let's hope Disney don't pull a Pete's Dragon with this, so far that's still not looking like it will get a 3D blu ray release anywhere in the world...

Wasn't it a flop ?
This will likely be massive so a 3D Blu-Ray release should happen here

Disney seems to be getting back on track with 3-D Blu-Rays... I think if the latest round (TFA, Jungle Book, Finding Dory) sell well, we'll see them continue to release movies on the format.

This year has undoubtedly been a better year for Disney 3-D Blu-Ray than 2015, when (I believe) the only 3-D Blu-Ray Disney put out was Inside Out.

The point I was making is that mrredman suggested that something being a huge success should guarantee a US 3D blu ray release. I was pointing out that Frozen (arguably the biggest Disney success ever) didn't get one, so that would be no guarantee. I'm aware other successful movies got a US 3D blu, but THE MOST successful one still hasn't so that's no way to be sure.

My point was Frozen is an old example; Disney is starting to move back in the direction of releasing BD3Ds -- though still not quite all the way back (they didn't include 3D in this year's reissue of the original BatB).
