I don't know if you have XM radio, but there is a great station called Cinemagic (Channel 27). It plays film scores from all kinds of films and sometimes they have the director or person who scored the film on. I've heard people from the dude who did Happy Feet to the guy who directed The Bank Job to Spike Lee's new war film. This is only sometimes, but they interview the director and then it cuts to a scene in the movie that flows into the music. Usually though it's just a scene that flows into the score. A really cool station. So you could get some ideas from it.
