Question Store exclusives for UHD... Where are they?

All these UHD versions need to start getting the same store exclusives.
2k Beyond has a bonus disk, 4k does not.
2k GB'16 has a bonus disk, 4k does not.
2k ID4-2 has a digibook, 4k does not.
2k Apocalypse has a digibook, 4k does not.
2k Turtles 2'16 has a bonus disk, 4k does not.

As someone who wants/needs the most complete editions of a film, it's getting to be really expensive having to buy each movie twice!

Shouldn't UHD buyers be getting the most comprehensive package, considering we are paying so much extra already?

You would think of they were trying to help sell the format they would put the exclusives only on the 4K or maybe a different exclusive in with the 4K. As it is now people have less reason to go for the newer format. I hope this format takes off somewhat.

Wrong! X-men Apocalypse has real 4K DI, UHD 4K with Dolby Atmos from theatrical cinema.

ID4 has 35mm high master to real 4K UHD
GhostBuster was 4K mastered to real 4K UHD

I dont know about Star Trek Beyond...

For the people out there who just want the store exclusive bonus discs and don't really care about the packaging (digibooks, steelbooks), I highly recommend the site bluraysforeveryone.com, they sell just the bonus discs separately, among other things. They even have packaging only stuff too. It is cheaper going that route than buying multiple editions. Of course you could buy multiple sets, take the bonus disc out, and resell it on eBay for a profit. But I can't be bothered with that. I have used this site to grab a few store exclusive bonus discs and haven't had any problems.

I would rather have all 4K discs of 3D movies containing the 3D Blu-ray also.

Now I am double dipping on almost every 3D movie, save for Ghosbusters 2016 and Angry Birds.

Opips' responses often make me wonder if he's ESL (english second language). But even if his posts can be confusing sometimes, he's never rude or judgmental, even when people dog pile on him or pick fun at him. As such, he's a better man than most of us.

Besides, calling them 2k releases (a 1080p BD is never marketed as such, unless referring to a 2k restoration) in an area where 2kDI vs 4kDI is a viable concern to some, opens the door for his mistake, ESPECIALLY if he is ESL like I suspect.

Amen, but I blame those who fall for it, not the studios/stores who enable it. You want/NEED it? Then you NEED to pay for it. The rest of us will be satisfied with our one copy, the one we actually WATCH.

Agreed that it's pretty annoying, especially since these bonus discs can't possibly make that big a difference financially for these stores.

sure that sucks, but you also have to start looking at the flip side.

Labyrinth steelbook was a 4K exclusive at Best Buy.
New Ghostbuster and Angry Birds you want 3D you have to buy the 4k version as well.
Amazon has digibook type exclusive of 4K Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon.

MOre and more exclusives will come but sales has to justify having unique sku's for it.

Crouching Tiger is just part of the Cinema Series. It just follows on from Fifth Element and Dracula. It isn't a UHD. It is a Remastered in 4k title.

Yes but Amazon IS getting a version of the Supreme Cinema Series release with a UHD disc. That's what they were talking about.

Forget exclusive content.

I'd gladly pay $30 for 4k uhd, blu and 3d blu combo pack. Better yet, start producing these steelbooks in 4k. All you gotta do is make more steelbooks and just put uhd in, instead of blu. Not like you have to change the size or anything.

True, but that's not really the point. Your comment was that there aren't UHD exclusives.
