Based on the sellouts and their times, it looks to me like they manufacture a wide variety of amount of discs depending on the title and their assumed popularity, or maybe some older titles just sell out because they have never been out of stock before.

It would seem to me -- mind, I'm no business man -- that stuff like Dekalog and the del Toro would see a lot of business, since you're saving so much money. I mean, I saved $40 on Dekalog.

But like I said, I'm no business man, so maybe I have it wrong.

Because in the Criterion Closet, it is grouped together with 3 Women and Head.

Jon Mulvaney is probably back on the hooch again.

Last time that happened, back in 2009, his account went silent for three weeks and Criterion posted announcements for Over The Top and Deep Throat.

...it was a crazy time.

In all seriousness I think those are the single blu-ray re-release, of the dual format re-release of the original single disc releases

Got mine immediately, too, like within seconds of my order submission, though it was handled differently than I'd expected. I thought it would show as a credit within my online account. After I crossed the threshold, it showed "499 to go until a free $50 gift certificate!". I checked my e-mail, and found one from Criterion with the code to enter at checkout.

It's nice the way their system works when the coupon is entered, too. I placed an additional order for three films, slapped the DOLLS 50% off code, and the total came to $59.91. So, free shipping at that point, as I had more than $50, obviously. When I entered in my gift certificate code, the total dropped to $9.91. I was expecting to have the $6.95 standard shipping charged slapped back on, but they kept it free shipping, even though, technically, I didn't spend enough on my own. Funny how I love everything that Criterion does. They've got probably the best customer service I've ever had from a company. That's been my experience, at least.

Well, you should be ashamed of that previous post anyways.

When you used, "What kind of sick joke is this?" you passed up the almost perfect opportunity to use, "What fresh Hell is this?"

I hope that's true. Ill gladly dump my digi for the plastic case. I know everyone loves their digipacks but personally I strongly strongly dislike them.

Unfortunately for you, Breathless always has been a digipack even if it was one disc, it has a very thick booklet.

Criterion-related since "Don't Look Back" is in the collection, I had a chance to see Bob Dylan live recently. Dude still gives one of the greatest live performances I've ever seen at age 75. Just incredible. If you're a music fan, you owe it to yourself to see Bob perform while he's still out there doing it. A true legend.

I've seen him twice in concert.

The second time on a double bill with Van Morrison.

...who did not play Tupelo Honey or Brown Eyed Girl or Moondance or any of his signature songs.

To be honest, I did not recognize a single song that he played that night.

They were all tracks from the NEW ALBUM.

...I was not pleased.

David Spade summed up my seething rage better than I ever could.

I've seen Van as well. Dude is one curmudgeonly prick. He played a 15 song set and I recognized maybe 2-3 of the songs and I've listened to quite a few of his albums. Played a bunch of newer stuff. It wasn't a great performance to be honest. I saw Dylan about 10 years ago and he was much better when I saw him this past week. He really was on top of his game. Played "Tangled Up in Blue", "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue", "Things Have Changed", "Highway 61 Revisited", "Desolation Row", "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" among others and absolutely killed.

Bob is the only musician I've seen who doesn't say one word to the crowd. It was kind of jarring because I saw Bonnie Raitt recently who is easily the most personable musician I've ever seen in terms of crowd interaction. But it would be weird if Dylan did interact with the crowd given who he is. Also saw Joe Bonamassa recently who was clearly high as a kite. Dude went on a diatribe in the middle of the show that made absolutely zero sense. But he played great.
