3D would be cool, but what i really would like is some sort of holographic video game to come out , now that would be amazing

I know i know, we need the technology first but it will happen!!! I can only imagine......

Who wants to use glasses when the technology is available to let you see 3D without glasses?

I think, think they call that 4-d now. i could be wrong, but yes, that would be awesome to see but not sure how it could be done or how hard it would be to play when things seem like they are running around your living room ahhahaha.

3D Graphics is defferent from 3D presentation.. I think it is still called 3D presentation only like a 3D movie.. 4D would be something like a booty shaker under your sofa.. and additional realtime effects like dual shock on controller etc..

4d references time.. no booty shaker will add the dimension of time, for time to exist in a proper presentation *in my wildest hopes* things would need to age /change, in a almost real time setting, things would decay, dust would form, objects would all be marked to there own internal timelines..

The problem is visualling time is actually really really hard.

In photography 4d, can be produced by having a slow aperture time and you say toss a ball the balls motion from person a to person b will be actually marked into the film thus you would have a image that contains the full set of motion inside the image.

Its a nice effect of showing time, im not really sure how to define it in a media that is "Games" I mean where do you draw the line of 3d and 4d?

The fact that you can move you could justify that movement and animation leads to the existence of time, because without time nothing could move.

It is possible that without time, and thus a 3d existence, would we not be immortal?

Anyway that is my observation on the subject.

As 3-dimensional beings, we are only able to observe a "slice" of the fourth dimension at a time. The theory goes that every dimensional being is able to observe a sliver of the next dimension, which is why time is visually unfathomable to us.

A 4-dimensional being would be able to see the entire timeline, but it would be restricted to seeing that one timeline, while it would take a 5-dimensional being to see the entirety of the branching paths of that timeline, and so on, up to 10D, which is basically everything that could possibly exist.

I recall the original argument with a instructor he tried to tell us the world we live is only 3d, we argued alot about time, my original discoveries of what 4d started from reading a bryce book that talked about 4d and continued with traditional photography classes... but alas we both can agree that the original writing that adding a "booty shaker" will not constitute an adding the 4th dimension into a game, correct.

So lets move towards another goal what would be needed to add or create or design that would allow us to visualize 4d inside a game.

I always originally thought that all objects having there own places on the time line that would allow for a realistic set of decay and ageing would be closer but that would only give us the slice that would be considered within our own observations, would that be close enough... perhaps we could almost call it reality... not probably very close but it sounds like a nice game name.

I actually think he might be right. This is from Wikipedia...

"A 4-D film is a marketing term that describes an entertainment presentation system combining a 3-D film with physical effects in the theatre that occur in synchronization with the film. Since the physical effects are expensive to set up, 4-D films are currently only found at special venues, usually in amusement parks.

Some of the effects currently simulated in 4-D films include rain, wind, and vibration. The use of water sprays and air jets is also common. A 4-D film is not shown in a motion simulator, although some seats in 4-D venues vibrate or may move a few inches during the presentation."

I know its for films but...

This would be sweet but it might be many years before anything basic on the market....but in the mean time just get baked and play some games.
