Agree. Looks like the UK got a better cover too. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Bought these in a 2 for £17.99 (Disney 3-D) offer on Amazon UK. More out of curiosity than anything. They're both childhood favourites I hadn't seen in years, so I'd have bought them on regular blu-ray eventually. Beauty and the Beast is easily the better conversion. In fact, it's spectacular in 3-D! You could argue it's not much more than a really sophisticated pop-up book effect, but the layering and separation is often tremendous. It's been artfully rendered, too. Characters and objects are rounded just enough to give them form in the 3-D space, but not in any way that's distracting. The ballroom scene looks better than ever--the extra dimension makes it seem even more opulent. Falling snow and rain, the castle heights, the forest: the 3-D enhances all these and more. I was so impressed, I'd be reluctant to watch it any other way in future. The Lion King is mild in comparison, but it's still a fairly good watch in 3-D. The highlights are the stampede and the opening Circle of Life sequence. I did forget I was watching a 3-D version for stretches of the film, unlike Beauty & Beast, which, to be fair, has much busier settings. So much of The Lion King is epic, with sky and vast open vistas as the background; it's harder to create that 3-D contrast. And it probably didn't help that I watched it second. I'd recommend them both, if only for the novelty of seeing two of the best animated films ever made in a lovingly rendered extra dimension. Beauty and the Beast wows, though, while The Lion King simply pleases. |

My latest Blu-ray 3D title purchase.
158723_slip.jpg The 3D is actually well done = excellent! Twice now viewing this at home with a 65" OLED, studying the 3D and soaking up the fine quality of this production. ![]() And I didn't feel at all this way when viewing it in 3D theatrically. |

The 3D was mediocre at best. Over all this film was a huge disappointment. Boring story that could have been really cool. Will Smith didn't stay away because of the money (does he even need more of that at this point??), he stayed away because the script was awful.

I gotta agree. Beauty and the Beast is amazing in 3D. Unfortunately, The Lion King (by far, my favorite movie of all time) is weak in 3D. I tried it once, but it's a waste of time wearing the glasses for it. The changes they made to the movie and the audio weaknesses both make the DVD better than the Blu-ray of the Lion King. I'm hopeful that someday we'll get a better, definitive release of The Lion King with all the original scenes intact, a properly done soundtrack & score, and better 3D. |

![]() ![]() Went in with low expectations and came out happy. The 3D (and the sound) starts a bit underwhelming and mild. After a while it starts to ramp up and the depth then becomes appropriate for the scenery and at that point I stopped looking for the 3D and was totally immersed by it and never distracted by depth. Gorgeous 3D shots throughout this flick. The movie is on the predictable side, but manages to get that sweet emotional investment that Disney manages so well. I can't say there were any popouts although occasionally things were placed in front of the screen, and I honestly didn't miss them since nothing really seemed to call for it. The sound had a bit too much dynamic range compression baked in for my taste, but that's a small complaint. I would watch it again. |

Just watched flying swords of dragon gate and if you like Kung fu style movies then grab this movie. The 3d is great and if more movies in 3d looked this good every one would be watching 3d. It has good depth with alot of pop outs but nothing gimmicky.

I watched The Angry Birds Movie in 3D
![]() As always, I could have done with stronger pop-outs and depth was average but at least there was some pop-out (Chuck's beak most prominently) and in any case volume and separation are what makes animation that much better in 3D. It all looks so pretty and colourful. Not sure what was cut to please the BBFC but I wish Sony had left the strong wordplay in, the more adult content the better, these birds weren't angry enough for me... I followed that up with Justin And The Knights Of Valour in 3D ![]() Not as strong 3D as Angry Birds, fairly shallow and not much in the way of pop-outs but still much better than 2D. As usual, the action sequences benefit the most from the third dimension, it just adds that something extra. There was a nice twist on How To Train Your Dragon as well as a good voice cast so it was watchable enough. |

Although i too watched ANGRY BIRDS tonight and was an overall nice presentation. Sound was good but the 3D was a little subtle at first but opened up a bit more once the pigs arrived on the island. Like mentioned above, Chuck's beak does have a few great pop out of the screen moments. Plus the movie was surprisingly good and included a few adult moments that hopefully kids wouldn't catch onto |
