After much deliberation, I've decided I'm just gonna wait a few weeks and pick up Punch-Drunk Love, The Squid and the Whale, and One-Eyed Jacks in store.

I really really really need to stop blind-buying stuff, so I'll go with 3 that I've already seen and loved.

Haha, when I first read the initial post, I didn't see the "this guy", which obviously implied it was about the dog. I thought it was more along the lines of, "Who is this attractive girl here? Is she an employee or is she just visiting? Anyone know her e-mail? Is she 'Jon Mulvaney'?"

I'm going a little easy on my wallet this time. I picked up The Uninvited a little while back from the Criterion Store flash sale.
As far as the latest B&N sale, narrowed it down to just two titles, The American Friend, and Cat People.
Sadly, The Asphalt Jungle will have to wait until their July sale.

I think I'm canceling my Lone Wolf and Cub Amazon screw up $40 order.

It would be a blind buy anyway.

I have gift cards, but have a feeling that $40 will go a long way in the next two months to discs and deals I really want -- versus a set I may not even open until 2018.

Am I nuts?

Should I be talked out of this?

Night Train is terrific. That was the title I was most looking forward to this sale. Such a great companion piece to The Lady Vanishes, which is one of my favorite movies.

Cause the list price is 49.99. So he's including the half off in the deal.

Martin 31, Mifunefan is correct. Half off sale plus my membership discount. Throw in the 20% coupon and bingo. What a deal.

After Three Colors, Double Life & Dekalog, I feel I should have all his films available in criterion blu.
Blind Chance is my favorite Kieslowski film (have yet to see Dekalog, though). I went into it "blind". I wasn't sure what to think at first, as the initial fifteen minutes are like watching pieces of a confusing puzzle and challenged my interest. "Not sure I am in the mood for two hours of this", I thought. It then quickly settles down and gets a lot more coherent.

However, at a little under halfway into the run time something happens that left me going WTF? and I was ready to dismiss it as a confusing mess of a movie trying too hard to be "arty".

I stuck with it, though, and suddenly realized I had been wrong all along....the puzzling clues at the beginning and the title of the film suddenly made sense. I think it is a brilliant film, very well made and acted, and when it was finished I was both touched, astounded, and finally ready to acknowledge Kieslowski as one of my favorite directors. That ending......

Very highly recommended.
