I don't know but the standard screen is huge and would be pretty awesome to view 3D movies on if that update is coming sometime. Would be like being able to see all your favorite 3D movies in the theater again anytime you want. I'm sure it will be fun for 2D movies as well. Or for streaming Netflix on which I don't have at the time. I wish there was a way to run my satellite cable through the playstation so I could watch anything on the VR headset.

I can't really remember the last good horror game I played. I remember the game, but it was so far in the past it is just so faint.

The game? Silent Hill Zero. The platform? The PSP. So nearly a xxxxing decade ago. The best horror game experiences I had were Silent Hill 2, 3 and 0. So we aren't even talking "last gen". We are talking the gen before last...

Horror in games took a nosedive when the went first person and 3D and just abandoned the cinematic, directed games. They went from you controlling a character in a really long terrifying horror movie, to some other action crap. That first PS3 Silent Hill was a joke, with you banging into and getting stuck on hospital furniture

Last gen, there were a few close ones. That Siren game was nearly great. But it was broken for me as my hardware and settings couldn't handle the black. Hardware nowwoyld do better, with direct LED. FALD, etc. But Siren was too early..

This gen? What? Nothing

Silent Hills PT was a very effective horror demo (which I still have installed on the PS4 now that it's gone). That game still brings the tension since you're in this empty, open hallway with nothing to fight back with, and this demonic, twitching, giant ghost hag can flicker right next to you in a second when that horror music starts building. Allison Road was attempting to bring that style, but got canceled, then apparently brought back into production after the other gig didn't work out. Not sure what's going on with it now, but I think it's PC only anyway.

That would be a nice option. I'd like a themed horror movie theater to walk around inside of, watching horror blu rays on the "big screen" in the virtual space. You could sit in any seat filled with cobwebs.

I always liked Silent Hill 3 and especially Fatal Frame on the PS2. The latter truly was a horrifying game that even scared me while playing during the daytime.

For those that can handle the Japanese-centric style of play, I've always loved Siren (or Forbidden Siren as it was known in the EU)

On PS4 now. It's worth a look. Not the scariest game, but strangely rewarding.

Outlast 1 is pretty damn scary. As was PT (sigh)

Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly was definitely THE pinnacle of my horror games.

It was a fresh concept, great mechanics, and really had you on your toes the whole time.

Plus the simple things make it, make you vunerable.

[Show spoiler]
- not being able to run or dash for a LONGER period of time
- not seeing your enemy (you have to use the camera obscura to view them)
- loading times (which I have to admit helped set the tone)
- and those damn damn
[Show spoiler]priest bell chimes. until this day it still reminds me of Fatal Frame...

I only played the second one for a short period of time on the old Xbox, I also played the Wii edition but I could not stand the English voice acting. Never played the third one, Fatal Frame 4: Mask Of The Lunar Eclipse was great though! I am currently finishing up Maiden Of Black Water on the Wii U, not as good as its predecessors but still nice to play Fatal Frame on a current gen console. Oh I also enjoyed Spirit Camera on the 3DS for a while...

So how about Fatal Frame VR for PS VR, Tecmo???

I would die for either a VR game or a normal Fatal Frame on the PS4. Unfortunately the rumors are Nintendo has some legal tie to the series now. Very depressing how they censored and sent FF5 out to die in North America.

Silent Hill is basically dead too. It's hard being a horror fan sometimes.

Well in that case then a FF game on the Switch would make me consider buying one.

I am very much against censorship in any way but I wasn't really bothered with what happened to FF5 in the west. It really did not suit the game and would probably be distracting lol. But pure out of principle it is wrong ofcourse.

Miu in FF5 is actually a gravure idol in the story, so it did fit! I realize it's like defending a porno because of "story" but even so...

It's an 18+ game to begin with FFS!
