Part of Disney's agreement with Studio Ghibli was no cuts. Funnily enough, the first film Disney was given after the deal was struck, was Princess Mononoke. Imagine Disney thinking "what did we get ourselves into"

In fact they had to get written premission from Ghibli to change the title of Kiki (originally called Witch's Delivery Service).
