The Yearly Package will just be for Jan-Dec 2017.

The November releases (along with Jack Frost) will be discounted, with a few being 50% off.

Long shot, yes, but was just thinking out loud. Thanks for the reply.

I think I'm going to have to order anything remotely slashery in the VS Black Friday sale. Cannot wait for Jack Frost. I've been hoping someone would do that justice for years.

There are a few titles VS have im not familiar with and was wondering are the following slasher movies?

Massage Parlor Murders
Frightmare
Psychic Killer
Horror House on Highway 5

Frightmare is. Horror House on Highway 5 is. Psychic Killer... I guess if you want to use a looser definition than many people do, maybe.

I've got my wish list set up for Black Friday, but I'm curious; does (non-limited) stuff sell out at the sale prices?

It depends very much on what your definition of a slasher is - if it is analytical or more based on "gut feeling." I prefer to use the term to describe any of the movies that follow the same plot structure as Halloween and are thematically and stylistically similar. Halloween, after all, gave rise to a multitude of copies, some better than others. If you strip away such things as setting, cinematic craftsmanship, etc., you will find that Graduation Day and Madman basically have the same structure as Halloween.

None of the movies you listed above fall into this strict category, though Horror House on Highway 5 comes closest. It's also a mess of a movie. Frightmare shares more with One Dark Night. Massage Parlor Murders is in the same vein as Mardi Gras Massacre, Killer's Delight, and Don't Answer the Phone! in that it's a sleazy serial killer police procedural with horror elements (it's obviously not as competent as KD or DAtP). Psychic Killer is no more a slasher movie than Patrick is, but the pace is faster.

Hope this helps!

We wanna keep that as a direct sale item buyt, depending on how many sell within the first month, we might make it available through Diabolik.

On slashers, my take would be as follows:

Massage Parlor Murders: very much a proto-slasher, as it's about a killer going around NYC and stalking and slashing. It's got some popular later slasher tropes like a POV camera, etc. But, as with most proto-slashers, it also has a heavy police procedural vibe as well. Still, it's gory, it's sleazy, and has a well choreographed car chase that comes out of nowhere.

Frightmare: if you think Ghost Story is a slasher, you'll probably call Frightmare one too. Basically, all the killings are the result of supernatural forces but the structure is slasher-esque, with a bunch of oblivious youths stuck in a house while a killer stalks them. Except the killer is a zombie with supernatural powers.

Psychic Killer: Not really a slasher or even a proto-slasher, but still with the stalking and killing aspects. This time, it's 100% supernatural though.

Horror House on Highway 5: Depending on the scene, this may look or feel like a slasher and there's a bunch of stylistic tropes, especially the overtly Halloween-esque opening scene, but HHOH5 is the type of unclassifiable strangeness that really can't be called any one thing. I'd very highly recommend it, if you're into weird underground horror films as there's nothing quite like it. I saw it projected recently at the world theatrical premier and it was truly a hypnotic experience. I'd suggest downing some edibles first as well.

Ugh, this sale is going to completely clear me out. Was going to just get the 2017 package, but now that I also want Jack Frost, the two soundtracks, most likely the two secret releases, and the older titles that I'd been waiting on getting....

Does anyone remember how much the blu-ray only package cost last year? Thinking of maybe just getting that instead of the completionist, since I think most of the DVD-only titles are adult stuff, which aren't of interest to me for the most part.

Haha, I wish you would have! It's a shame the company just took the raw scan and dropped it on disc without any of the necessary adjustments -- it really could've been a knockout if done properly.

We don't expect to sell out of any non-limited releases (hopefully). Currently, our inventory is pretty well stocked. That said, place your order on Friday the 25th to minimize your risk. Thanks!
