I ment when a studio does the mixing using one of the codecs, for example dolby uses dialnorm. i know what it is, and why they use it http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/volum...on-6-2000.html but why would they alter the sound?

also i heard sony turns off dial norm on there movies?

Blu-ray.com has not updated there site. The Prince of Caspian will be 7.1 DTS-HD MA per the Disney site. You will not see PCM mostly at all for now on from any studio. No reason to take up all the space if you can use DTHD or DTS-HD MA.

Wow i didn't know that, why are these studios moving away from PCM? blu-ray has the space for it obviously so why not use it.
dont call it wasted space cause if its being used its in no way wasted.
