Lately, the rest of the world is leaving us behind in a lot of categories. Unfortunately I can't get into specifics since we are not supposed to talk about politics on here, hence why I didn't elaborate. Have no worries though, Obama will get us back on track.

The biggest problem will be that people will be getting ripped off at the gas pump. People would now have to figure out the price in the way they used to know it by multiplying the cost per liter by 3.78 to get a per gallon cost. Too much for most to think about and they will just accept it.
why? if all gas stations use litres then you compare the price of one station to an other. You can also compare what it took to fill it before and after (then again the way gas fluctuates on a daily basis you are screwed even without the change).

I could understand if you said pop or something in a container (will the 1 gallon jug go to 3L)

I remember in Australia, the fluctuation was like 10-20c per litre each week. That's like 60-70c per gallon. That never happens in the US. Maybe it would if they were selling it by the litre?

It's annoying that Soft Drinks come in Liters and Ounces. I get paperwork for 16.9 ounce drinks, but I know them as 1/2L drinks, so I've got to remember both measurements for the drinks. There's absolutely no standard in soft drinks at all!

OR maybe its time for the rest of the world to catch up with us

But the saddest thing about that post is that you probably believe it 100%.

LOL. I'm sure you have a lot of interesting specifics, all having to do with the "wonderful" socialistic programs adopted by Western Europe that the messiah is just itching to try to implement here. Well, the American people, though ignorant enough to elect the most grossly unqualified person in history as president, are not going to sit idly by while the greatest country on earth is attempted to be transformed into another marxist state. Our founding fathers must be turning over in their graves right now...

We must be doing something right, some of our poorest citizens are overweight, drive around in cars, and talk on cell phones.

Don't get me wrong, America is a great country.
It's just that insular arrogance that gets me.
You know; thinking your way is the best no matter what, looking inwards ignoring the rest of the world. Hey maybe you are a Marxist country!!!

Haven't you heard? We bailed out Wall Street, now we are going to bail out Main Street. The government is now going to help pay mortgages. I'm beginning to feel like a sucker for paying my bills. Of course I would never get it, I have a track record of working to better myself. They are relying on me, and others like me to pay for their new "assistance" programs.

We may be arrogant, but it's hard not to be. We have millions trying to get in, and hardly any trying to leave.

If you don't wish to "get into specifics," then don't make nonsensical platitudes like "the rest of the world is leaving us behind in a lot of categories." I've heard this rhetoric before and it is always proven to be emotional and far from accurate.

I also hadn't realized we elected Moses to lead us out of the grasp of Pharoh. These are complex economic and geopolitical issues that will not be remedied over night. Mr. Obama seems to have the intellect, but sometimes that just isn't enough. I have a terrible feeling there is gonna be a lot of disillusioned people in four years.
