I bought a PS3 awhile back... and I bought a second one yesterday for my son (since the price drop and 5 free movie offer) anyway, I went into my Best Buy store and the BD to HD DUD ratio is still fairly comparable. (I always check)... then I walked out into the main aisle and there was an Experience Blu end cap... I was like "cool"... walked around to the other side of this display, thinking it would have HD DUD on the other side, but no, it had regular DVD on it... so Blu-ray is represented better than the dud. Thought I would share.

Hey, I dont think I realized this at first but are you saying that if you buy a PS3 you still get the 5 free movie deal?
Ive got a PS3 but would concider purchase of another if so, also my uncle called me last night because he has a big HDTV and wants to make the next gen jump, of course I told him how Blu is the ONLY way to go and he is throwing his money away if he goes HD-DVD at this point. ![]() Anyhow, I told him that the advantage to the PS3 was...well its obvious its advantages, but the advantage to a standalone player was the 5 free movies, if you get those with the PS3 too then its a no brainer. Thanks for the feedback |

Covington, LA Best Buy.
6 racks,3 each facing each other. You walk between the racks and BD on one side and HDcrap on the other. Pretty equal. |

I live in a small town so we dont have a Best Buy here, but I was in the Best Buy in Sarasota and I can honestly say I didnt look at the movie selection for HD.
However they did have 2 Tvs hooked up with BD players I think one was a Sony and the other a Samsung display, where on the other hand there was nothing for the HD players, just two HD-DVD players stacked on top of each other on the shelf. None hooked up or playing. I felt good about that ![]() |

I only frequent the one of the Best Buy stores in the city where I live. I should check out the other to see what it is like, but it is kind of way out there. The one nearest me has two Blu-ray displays, with a few titles by each, these face the aisle directly infront of the televisions. The HD DVD and Blu-ray sections are pretty equal, but sitting in the aisle by one of the Blu-ray displays is a rack of Blu-ray discs almost as large as the normal sales rack. So, I would say this one is a little more blu.
