I bought the tin box DVD set when I came out. But now that I'm set up to view in High Def, I own The Movie on BD and have a constant itch to pick up TRDC that I know I'll have to scratch someday. So if a BD version of the original tin box set were to come out, I'm not so sure I'd pick it up. S3 and S4 are good enough to own once on DVD already and that's it!

My guess is that we see a Superman boxset come out whenever the next movie appears theatrically. Unfortunately that may not be until 2011. I want a boxset with all four movies and with Superman II having both the theatrical version and the Richard Donner version. Lossless audio of course and each movie maxed out on a BD-50.

Same here, got the tin box on DVD back in '06,and STM on blu this past spring.III and especially IV aren't good enough for me to ever want on blu,and I don't even have any plans to buy the Donner cut or Returns on blu anytime soon. I would, however, buy the original theatrical version of both STM and SII if they are ever released on blu. |

I liked Superman II the Donner cut, but i also think they should release the original theatrical version of Superman II i wouldn't mind owning superman III on blu thought it wasn't even close to the first two but not a horrible movie like IV imo. Superman returns is technically the new superman III as far as the time line goes thought.

I've stalled on picking up TRDC simply because Blu-ray's review points out the variety of original sources used to make up the cut may be distracting to watch on BD. But I think I prefer it, storywise, to the original Superman II. It didn't even enter my mind to look out for that title's eventual BD release; at this time, I don't think I'd pick it up. I would, however, break down and pick up the theatrical version of Superman: The Movie if that ever hit BD. Also, while it wasn't included in the tin box set, ISupergirl is a guilty pleasure of mine, so I would definitely get that if it ever came out on BD too.

Had Donner been able to finish it in the first place,I think it could have been a really great movie. |
