I watched the sixth Lone Wolf and Cub film last night for the first time, and I have to admit I wasn't expecting it to be

I watched 3 CC titles over the last couple days... All 1st time watches.

The best was Frances Ha. I had actually seen some of it once before but my pre-conceived ideas about the character and Baumbach himself were too over whelming. Anyway, I liked the Georges Delerue compositions that were used and felt that the music, in general, was used in an effective, non-intrusive way. Pretty funny, too!

Odd Man Out is a rock solid entry in Carol Reed's filmography that gets better and more interesting as the course of its 2 hour run time reveals it to be an increasingly less conventional noir. It was fairly easy for me to tell that Reed had worked with the same cinematographer he had worked with for The Third Man; its a great looking film with awesome use of shadows in the Belfast alleyways and corridors.

Carnival of Souls is a pretty cool watch that compares well to the more popular Night of the Living Dead. A 30 minute documentary that was made for local TV in Lawrence, Kansas around 1990 is a must watch. The director and writer show a great deal of humility and it was interesting to learn a bit more about the film's production history. The film is cheesy and cheap, but for this viewer, those qualities really lent themselves to the film's charms. More polish could have been a detriment to the film.

Damn, a lot of them are also in Alfredo Garcia it looks like. With TT losing rights, and Arrow only releasing it in the UK, I thought it may be pointing to CC getting the rights here.
