The Deep Color menu says "Auto" so the HDMI handshake between the Samsung player and T.V. set should tell Samsung player what bit depth video signal should output. I'll do some testing this evening. |

What kind of internet speed do you need to stream 4k?

![]() ![]() Standard video mode at all 0's is also one of the best settings for this particular player. This is only accessible during disc playback. |

I tested the player with Deep Color set to Auto and I see no banding, one way to spot banding is the 20th Century Fox opening/fanfare, the sky shows banding if either the player or T.V. are badly set up. Also the sunset on The Martian show severe banding if badly set up. Nothing of this happens when the Samsung player Deep Color set to Auto on my Philips 4K set with a 10 bit display. |

![]() I could not find BD-Wise setting for my Samsung TV. Are you sure all newish Samsung TVs have it? (my tv is 65" JU7000 ) Also and as far as I know, both my TV and receiver are hdcp 2.2 compliant. Are your suggestions applicable in my case as well? (I have read somewhere in this thread the recommended settings differ depending on what is hdcp 2.2 compliant) |

Is it confirmed that you get 10bit video even if you are playing UHD discs with this player a 1080P display?
i know colors will be downgraded to rec709 and downscaled but will the 10bit video remain? why i ask is because 10bit video on an display that has 10bit panel (even if its not HDR) really gets a benefit from it with a sharper picture with better/more colors compared to todays 8bit movies. |

Turn off all video processing and GUI modes in the receiver to keep the video signal in its purest form. You should still get the info screen, just not overlaid on the video signal. |
