Notice that the two trailers give different S2 premiere dates?

Trailer #2 says "February 8"
Trailer #3 says "February 1"

As far as I know, Feb 8 was the originally announced start date, but I've seen a spot on Syfy during Incorporated that said Feb 1. I still don't know which it is.

Syfy.com says 1st as well, so I'd go with that. Or maybe 1st is a "sneak peak" and it official comes back the 8th, you know how cable likes to be weird like that lol

Feb 8 was the original date, and then shortly after Syfy moved it up a week, so now Feb 1 is the official premiere date

I'm currently reading the first book and fancy starting the show after, does the show only cover the first book or will it overlap into the second?

Cheers,

Cheers,
Season one covers about half, maybe a bit more, of book one

Finally, the new season. Just watched the first of the two opening episodes and loved it. This show has the potential to join BSG 2003 as one of the all time great scifi shows, IMO.

I've decided that this is too good for streaming and will wait for the Blu-ray release. I have the first season on the way to tide me over, but it'll be tough

Can't wait to watch the premiere. I have it on the DVR ready to go.

Really hope this show lasts. I've ready through the first four books and it's soooo good.

There were a lot of nice subtleties in the dialogue. I found myself backspacing the DVR recording often to re-listen to what was being said.

And even though I knew they were doing it, it still seemed a bit odd that, like Avasarala, they introduced Bobbie Draper earlier in the story than she was in the books.

On another note, I see that as with Incorporated, Syfy is letting them include the "f-bomb" in the dialogue, even though they're still dropping out the sound. I don't recall them doing that in Season 1 (I didn't get a chance to rewatch the S1 BD before last night's premiere). I'm now curious when (if ever) they will get around to letting it be spoken without dropouts, like FX seems to have done with Taboo (they even let the "c-bomb" through in last week's episode).

Ya I forgot about that, they certainly respect their audience in that. I really need to binge the first season before too many new episode air to try to remember all the references.

Started watching season 1 recently and really liking it so far. About the only issues I have so far is that Chrisjen is hard to understand sometimes without subtitles and I'm not totally sold on Miller. I'm a fan of Jane but for some reason his character isn't yet gelling with me 7 episodes in. I do love the mixed language approach. Reminds me a lot of Firefly in that regard.

How are you watching it that you don't have subtitles?

Mr. Robot airs that way too.

It's likely that's the only way you'll see it being broadcast on TV. Streaming and On Demand might play it uncensored, otherwise you'll just have to wait for Blu-ray, or watch another country's airing of it.

Oh I have subtitles. I should have clarified "without using subtitles." My point is that any scene with her I'm locked into reading the words instead of the rest of the scene. So far it's not really an issue since she's just standing there delivering lines but it's still a bit annoying.

It wouldn't be uncensored via On Demand or streaming. I assume the BD/DVD will be uncensored.

As far as "the only way you'll see it being broadcast on TV" goes, I would agree if not for the example I stated of Taboo, which is airing uncensored on FX. And FX is basic cable just like Syfy.

I don't have a problem understanding her. Maybe I'm just used to her voice, having seen her in scads of other shows and films (plus, I just love husky voices like hers). I guess you're not used to watching foreign-language films with subtitles, either.

Found some people talking about the censoring. It's censored on Amazon, iTunes and Google Play as well.

The Canadian TV channel Space doesn't censor it.

So it seems like last week's drop of an F-bomb was a mistake. Not only was that same scene muted in the opening recap this week but there were two other muted F-bombs as well during the episode. I thought maybe they had finally eased up a little.
