Kiefer Sutherland Would Only Bring Back Jack Bauer For 24 Movie

They dun goofed by not killing off Bauer or giving a definitive end to his story in the last miniseries. Good for Kiefer for sticking to his guns, I KNEW they went with that cop-out ending just to force him to return if they wanted, but it looks like he's not playing their game.

The sad irony is, it would have behooved them to kill him off o this new "Legacy" could be a completely fresh break. But maybe they WANT everyone to be asking "Where's Bauer?" thinking it'll make more people tune in, who knows.

If they're going to bring Bauer back into the storyline, they have to do it right.

Kiefer is not available right now, so let's wait and see how this goes with Hawkins. I'd rather have the writers work out a good storyline to wrap things up with Bauer and have Kiefer be available than do so cheap hack job forcing him in or only doing some casual mention of him.

As for the movie, it's been in development hell for probably close to 10 years now. They originally wanted to make the movie after season 6, but it never worked out and kept getting pushed back and they wanted to low ball the budget. I'm not holding my breathe for a 24 feature film.

I think it will most likely bomb, but I'm still going to watch even if I'm annoyed that Kiefer isn't involved acting.

Considering they toned down the intensity and violence when kiefer was still involved I just don't know...

I think the return with Sutherland was still pretty good though. I just hope that the ending of this season features Sutherland in a cameo leading into another season, but I'm guessing with Designated Survivor, that won't ever happen unless its just a quick 1 or 2 episode role. But with one show on FOX, the other on ABC, it also continues to remain very unlikely.

people need to get Over the fact that, in all likelihood, he's NOT coming back to this series. he has the new series, which is Ok at times (

People are not going to "get over" what is arguably his most iconic roles and one of the best network tv dramas in modern history.

So the series premiere airs at approximately 10:30pm ET on Super Bowl Sunday and maybe later depending if the game runs long.

It will be really interesting to see how many of that 100M+ audience stays up late in the East coast to watch or will DVR/stream it the next day.

Plus, the 2nd hour airs the next day.

I'm fortunately on the West coast, so it will air early here. I padded my DVR an extra 30 minutes for now.

I know many 24 viewers are really unhappy that Kiefer Sutherland isn't participating other than getting an EP credit. But, they really need to stop ripping the show without even seeing it yet and spewing their hate on social media. If you're not interested in seeing a different story in the 24 universe, no one is pointing a gun to your head to watch. Go to bed or do something else.

I've liked what I've seen from Corey Hawkins limited work and I'm willing to give him a chance.
