Scott Wilkinson of AVS Forum has been reviewing Dolby Vision theatrical grades for awhile now. He recently posted his La La Land review. Unfortunately, it wasn't very positive.

Quote:
Regarding the Dolby Vision HDR, I’m dismayed to report that it was the worst I’ve seen—which is to say, it was no better than the SDR presentation we saw in a conventional cinema. There are several scenes in which Mia or Sebastian are singing in a spotlight with an essentially black background, and it was definitely dark gray! Same with the fantasy dance sequence among the stars (seen in the photo above) as well as the black interstitials—momentary full-screen black fields between scenes—which were the same dark gray. Overall, the image had no pop like I’m used to with HDR; it looked veiled and uninteresting.
I'll still buy this on UBD. Of course the theater and home grades are different. But I guess don't get your hopes up.
