So with the TV I have am I getting that? Also I noticed that when I played a 1080p mkv file on it it looked better when I watched it thru my tvs USB slot vs the players

HDR is far more important a feature on ultra hd discs than the resolution and waaay more noticeable and impactful than the resolution. You're missing out mate! You won't see a very big difference considering just the resolution.

My Philips 40'' non-HDR set is 10 bit capable and has a 10 bit pannel. As this Samsung player outputs a 10 bit video signal (12 bit if Deep Color is on), does this mean that WCG is displayed with this combination or the Samsung when detects a non-HDR T.V. set cuts-off WCG?

I am pretty sure the player does not output 10-bit color if HDR is not sent. I have to use an HD Fury Integral to achieve this.

Any of you experience a video delay of a few seconds when first playing a HDR disc? I always hear audio first with no picture on my TV screen. After a few seconds the HDR badge pops up on the screen and image comes up. It can be quite annoying because at first you can hear everything but cant see what is going on

Yes but it's just a second...maybe 2. Like when the fox intro logo and music come on first thing for example.

HEY Rocky do you get a HDR notification like a pop up whenever you watch a HDR movie or videogame?

For now, I'm keeping it on Auto.

Yes i do, but with a 4-5 seconds delay, someyimes even a little longer. Audio kicks in always quicker than HDR video

If I want to increase anything I do so from my TV controls and I leave the player's settings all on 0

On mine, it just starts about 3 seconds late. No audio before video... it'll just begin about 3 seconds into the Fox jingle or whatever.

I've learned that mine will do that if I have my soundbar set up through ARC. If I run a second HDMI cable from the player to the soundbar, it doesn't do it.

Mine is set up through ARC. I assume delay is caused by signal passing through receiver

Looks good to me, there's some noise but nothing bad at all. DVDs also look surprisingly solid.

Default Problem playing Deadpool.

I recently purchased the player as well as Deadpool. I did update the player with the newest firmware update. Whenever I try to play Deadpool it gives me a, "Disc does not meet specifications" warning then ejects the disc. I tried the same disc on my friend's player as well (also updated) and it does the same thing. I did try it on a Xbox One and it plays just fine. I should also note that my friend also has a copy of Deadpool, that he purchased around the release date and it still perfectly fine. I wonder if Fox recently slightly reencoded Deadpool and it is having issues playing on this player with the most recent update.

Deadpool was purchased from Best Buy this week. I am going to try another place. It is possible that there was something strange with the batch they had.
