A few years back, like less than 2 years out from paying off my FJ Cruiser, I got in a bad accident like less than 1/4 of a mile from my house. Some dumb redneck pulled out in front of me and my FJ ATE his 80-something Cadillac. I got a brand new, updated FJ as a result that I love, but also assumed a new set of truck payments as a result. Honestly, I wouldn't change a thing cuz we weren't severely injured and I LOVE the updated version of my truck but it totally sucked at the time.

You didn't have GAP? Your car insurance didn't pay for the repairs? Ouch. About to gear up for one of the last three full treadmill sessions before my first marathon.

I stopped all communication with my parents about four years ago. It's been a blessing..

Yeah once I can afford to get away from my parents forever that's exactly what I'm going to do. My relationship with them is toxic and none of us are going to change enough at this point for that to ever be different. I had a severe sprain of my left wrist from gripping the steering tightly on impact so I had a knot the size of a robin's egg appear almost immediately and some minor cuts and bruises, but yeah nothing major thankfully.

Yeah, insurance paid for a brand new truck or at least a good chunk of it, but still, the thing was legit almost fully paid off, so I took on payments for another 5 years when I wasn't expecting to do so, but again I'm in good shape because of it vehicle-wise.

On the parental thing, I don't and haven't talked to my father in I don't know how long. I can't say that it doesn't affect me to this very day despite being in counseling for life in general for about 5+ years now, but still...just odd knowing we live in the same general area and considering how I am always out exploring that we haven't run into one another.

That is weird, I think even after I move away I will still make an effort to see them for holidays but the regular contact will go away forever. I blame them more than myself, they continue to act like I'm not an adult and they treat me far worse than they do any of their other children. Oh well!

I speak to my father once a year maybe...haven't spoke to my mother in 23 years...found out last year she had died...didn't feel sad just sorry for her.
