FINALLY! I have both PS4 and Xbox One. And I've said that when and if either of them offered BOTH the option to swap out the internal drive AND use external HDDs, it would most likely become my preferred system to get most any title that comes out for both on.

I'm very happy with this news!

It kind of stinks that it comes just after I got a Dongcoh adapter for my PS4 a few months pack to upgrade to a 3.5" 4TB hard drive, but it's nice to know that when and if I need more space, I can just add on an external drive.

About damn time though. I think I might reformat the external HDD again and hopefully use that damn 4TB I just have lying around doing nothing.

Is this available yet i read that its still beta just wanted to see if anyone has had this update on there PS4 as of yet cause i can get home after work in less than 2 hours or so and update my system and check it out to see what the differences are with this new update.

Kind of unnecessary and I'd caution against it as their are higher failure rates the larger the HDD

Can't wait to hook up a 5tb to my PS4 Pro. Now just let us download our movies to PS4 and pro and that's all I want.

It's at least a month away, it's currently in Beta invite only.

If you install games on an external HDD and give it to a friend, I guess your friend couldn't play the games because they're linked to your account?
