Unfortunately, given the time of year we take this annual trip, we basically have to go out west to enjoy some warmer weather during the wintertime as the lady isn't a big fan of cold weather climates (we've been out to San Francisco and San Diego the past 2 years). It's either that or go to Florida which is nice, but it's just a little too close to Georgia.

Time to get cut a few of these heavy contracts and restructure a couple. Should get into the ~$20m free cap range. That should add a quality WR and CB, then draft one of each in the first two rounds!

Bullsh*t, all bets are off on vacation. Funny enough though, we jam pack our vacations so much that there's very little time to really lay back and slug beers until night time and by that time, Old Man Rager is usually too plum tuckered from the day's activities to even get drunk, haha. Best chance we had was last year in San Diego what with all of their amazing breweries and top notch IPAs and even then I stuggled to get a good buzz.

I've been a craft beer lover/drinker for a long time now and up until fairly recently I just couldn't handle IPAs and hoppier fare, but my tastes have made a complete 180. Shoot even my lady who also drinks craft beer has turned towards IPAs after not liking them. A well made west coast IPA is simply something to behold.

This is cool and all, and Rage: I do hope you score some good IPA and food on your AZ trip.

But perhaps after a certain number of such posts it may be time to take that convo to the Travel and/or Food subforums?

Exactly! While I've only been a football fan since around 1999/2000, does that make me a bandwagon fan just because I came on board right as the Pats started to get competitive again?

I've always hated that line of thinking, where folks who are supposed "die-hard" fans of any one particular sport act all high & mighty when people who are new to the game catch on when a local team of theirs does good. Newsflash, nobody gives a crap about how much longer you've been a fan of your team than they have, It's not a competition and you aren't cooler than they are just because you might know some more sports trivia answers than them! lol

Just enjoy the game and move on. No need to bring others down if you aren't happy about your own team.

Since it was kinda quiet in here, I didn't see the harm in it, but fair enough.

Back on track...

Expect Tony Romo to become a free agent. Cutting Romo creates $14M in cap space, trading him only clears $5.1 million. Cowboys $11M over cap

So I thought about it and I'm sticking with patriots vs seahawks was a better overall Superbowl.

Romo will be cut post June so they can cut the cap hit in half.

Where he goes really could be anywhere but Huston could be good if he takes a paycut year 1 and locks in 2-4 at a good deal. Denver is such a gamble that division is tough.

Why you gotta hate on Tony? Is it because he's better than every QB you've had except Favre?

Romo is good but you expect him to have more hardware. That's his knock he should suck more like Stafford that way when he does something good were amazed. Haha

I don't think anybody was hating on him; just being realistic about the Cowboys being better served freeing up cap space vs obtaining a draft pick.

Yeah we need the cap space, Romo is on possibly the least team-friendly QB deal in the NFL, still think the best scenario is a sign-and-trade. Dude is set for life financially, his lucrative house is in Dallas though so that could be a factor.

No way gotta cut him. Seriously he's only scd to make 14 million his cap hit will be super high if they don't cut him, he ain't gonna play for free.

Let's be honest 14 million for a starting QB is amazing.

He will be cut like manning. Houston should sign something thats low for season 1 and jumps to 20 million a year for 3 years. 30 million guarantee after 3 days of 2018. So 4 year 70 million. 10 million signing so he only has like a 2 million cap hit year 1.
