LBP is my most wanted game at the moment.

It's just that $60 is a stretch.

Wouldn't that mean that all new games are a stretch for you?

I agree with you completely Toefer. When you first start playing LBP, all the 'rules' it states for your created levels are not to be 'offensive'.

For me personally, I was second guessing my purchase when I heard of them removing levels for copyright reasons as I assumed they had all that legal mumbo jumbo worked out.

EDIT: For them NOT to have it worked out and not realize it would be an issue is irresponsible.

but can't you spoof something without violating the copyright laws? I mean you're not charging people to access the levels so you're not profiting off of it.

I don't disagree with companies taking action with LBP, but issue with LBP not telling us as its painfully obvious it'd be an issue.

To be honest Sony is in a tough position marketing LBP. It is apparent that most hardcore gamers are simply not interested in the game. Most of the casual games audience don't rush out and buy a game first week of release anyway. I think Sony needs to manage expectations a little better.

you know Clark, I think what hurt the game is a lack of identity, once someone from Media Molecule said they couldn't define it, I knew it was in trouble

People need to be told what it is and what it does before they buy it

I will wait to get LittleBigPlanet 2 when they include "Rag-doll kung-fu" game mechanics, power ups, enemies and weapons!

This could have been the new Ratchet and Clank, but they didn't go far enough with the "traditional" platforming aspects

Gears is much more known and hyped then LBP.
That's why we have these figures.

I still think that this game is going to sell well.

"Also the bulk of our marketing including our six figure TV advertising campaign doesn't roll out until December, so we genuinely believe that Sackboy hasn't even hit his stride yet," said SCE U.K. spokesperson David Wilson.

Pretty much. That's why we have this forum, in which we can get better deals from trades!

The most I spent on a game so far for my PS3 is MGS 4 ($30 shipped from a cool user on here). I guess I don't buy games when they are extremely new (I do, but very rarely). I'm sure ill get LBP by christmas, no matter the price.

I'll spend $60, but only once I know what I'm getting.

I'm not sure what affected my spending habits more: the $10 bump in price (which I understand), or getting older and being embarrassed to ask for games as gifts (so I have to buy the ones I want now).

I grew up on NES, SNES and PS1, and was used to getting games all the times as gifts. Now for PS3 it's completely different.

To bring things back on topic, I don't think it's really any surprise about the sales figures. It's been that way in movies for years, and now that games cost more money (to make and to buy) it's easier to go with the safe bet, when you have an idea of what you're getting. In the long run, though, I think LBP would have a chance to beat all of those games in total copies sold...except I hear LBP 2 is already in development, so that's a quick way to put a cap on LBP sales.

I'm fine with booster packs/add-on's etc (like The Sims), even though that could cause a lot of headaches (can people play levels that were created using add-on content, if they don't themselves own the add-on content?) but a sequel to the game just makes me hurt a little on the inside. I can understand why Harmonix had to do it with Rock Band, but not why Mm has to do this (other than $$$)...if it's actually true.

Hell, I'm 24 and I wouldn't think twice about asking for LBP!

But I also figure that there might be a few other things on the list that might be more important that video games (I do need a new coat).

I grew up on NES, SNES, and PS1 too...and N64...

Everything after that I didn't buy. Well, I did buy the Dreamcast, but I sold it 2 months after I bought it after deeming that sucked, so that hardly counted. So the PS3 has been my first console in a very long time, and I love it!

My biggest fear with LBP, is most of the time, the gameplay for me will be single player, or online. I just hope the online Coop gameplay is really good. If not, then I might have trouble spending $60 for it.
