Ghost World saves the day. Charming little flick.

Solid month and Good Morning was out of nowhere. I heard they're doing major improvements to the audio so the flatulence will rattle pictures off the wall.

It'd be great if Amazon could fug up the price on WCP volume 2. That thing looks like a beast. I'm giddy with excitement for that one. I'll get Othello too. Perhaps I'll get the Jeanne Dielman upgrade too.

I'm def. in for OTHELLO, GHOST WORLD, and the GOOD MORNING upgrade. I just watched the old DVD of the latter and even posted about how it was ready for a better transfer.

I think Dheepan is a strong effort from Audiard, but I don't think I'm going to pick it up.

Didn't buy WORLD CINEMA PROJECT 1, but I think I'll end up getting the second volume. I'd like to see the Yang, REVENGE, and MYSTERIOUS OBJECT. I would have picked up all three if they were separate, so I may as well spend the same amount (during a sale) and get the box.

Gonna keep my DIELMAN DVD. Trying not to upgrade much these days unless the copy I have is way way old (like GOOD MORNING or GHOST WORLD).

I'm really interested in Dheepan. I haven't seen it yet, but I might blind buy it.

I have held off watching Jeanne Dielman for years because I have been waiting for a Blu-Ray upgrade. But I finally caved, bought the DVD while I was in America last month and watched it for the first time last week. Classic.

It's streaming free on Netflix (or at least it was).

What a great month. Ozu and.. Jeanne Dielman?! There's another top ten title that has finally gotten the treatment.

EDIT: WHAT?! Taipei Story is in that set, too?

A very strong month. Very impressive titles, including 2 good upgrades with Ozu and Akerman. Ghost World steals the spotlight but Orson Welles' Othello is pretty big too. I'm also flattered to see another Martin Scorsese World box set (Volume 2). Finally, I'm quite curious about Dheepan and will view this before I purchase it.

May day, May day, the month of May: Hip Hip Hooray!

I'm so happy that Clowes did the cover for Ghost World. I mean talk about a waste if it wasn't him.

Lots of good announcements this month. Especially happy about the continuation of Scorsese's World Cinema Project and the release of Ghost World.

Yes, that cover art for Ghost World rocks! Might be one of the best Criterion covers I've seen ever.

Absolutely delighted by the inclusion of Limite. It's not only the first Brazilian film to enter the collection, but also the one that is generally considered by local critics to be the best ever.

I'm all in for Ghost World.

It's funny, because I was not a fan of most of the "quirky" indie movies from that era, but Ghost World hit all of the right notes for me, and I used to watch my DVD quite frequently.

I was living in a house with two friends when I got into this movie while it aired on cable television frequently, and they never could understand why I enjoyed it. I remember telling them at one point that Scarlett Johansson was going to be a big star one day, because of the way that her looks were juxtaposed with her unusually husky voice. My roommates didn't believe me. I guess we all now know who was right.

I might grab Good Morning and Othello during a sale, but Ghost World will be a day one purchase.
