*Gasp* Holy crap! So I'm guessing this will have not only the new 4K master, but also an HD transfer of the Japanese theatrical cut, AND HD Japanese trailers? Damn. Fingers crossed that The Big Boss will get a similar treatment, as that was the only other one missing an HD Japanese theatrical cut in the 2012 releases. Although all of them were missing Japanese trailers (aside from the revival double feature trailer for Big Boss and Fist of Fury)

Ok, this madness needs to stop!
![]() ![]() This would be nice but I have the HK version pre-ordered. And, we know that there will not be any English subs. So, I can talk myself out of getting this...until I end up getting it. ![]() ![]() |

Holy balls... guys...
![]() This is a two-blu set ![]() And while there's nothing on YouTube at the moment, they have an announcement trailer on Amazon, which shows snippets of the pre-opening Japanese logo, the 1975 Japanese trailer, and a 1997 revival trailer. Although that second disc may possibly just be the same 2012 disc... one would hope they would at least swap out the main film for the new 4K master on that second disc. |

So is it confirmed that the main feature is 4K remastered, or standard HD?

That's the confusing part right now, the announcement makes it seem like the second disc in the set uses the 2012 disc which has the 2009 HD master, but not confirmed. The first disc seems to be strictly Japanese theatrical media (HD transfer of Japanese theatrical cut and Japanese trailers)

![]() I`m guessing these screen shots are from the Japanese theatrical version of the movie? If so, then perhaps I need to get this. Fortune Star and Ritrovata botched the aspect ratio/framing on their recent HD master. I would rather watch a 4k master from the theatrical print that shows how it should have been; even if it is slightly less PQ. |

Interestingly, disc 1 includes 20 mins highlights of the film as special bonus features. Amazon says the highlights were made for advertising on TV. ![]() ![]() |
