United Kingdom All Universal 4K UHD titles will be re-released in UK

Seems like all Universal 4K UHD titles will be re-released in UK. Is there a hope of a better transfer of Oblivion, or is it probably the same transfer that will be used? Even if it says only blu-ray in the title, the format further down shows 4K and the pre-order price also indicates a 4K UHD release.

I wouldn't get too excited about these 're-releases' as I've read on another forum that these are just be being repackaged in thicker cases to allow shop security tags.

This will rule me out, I hate those thicker boxes, this is why I buy most of my discs from the USA.

Yes, they're re-releases with fat amarays to hold the UK's security tags (see the 'red tag' in the BVA listings below). Paramount titles are on there too because Universal distributes Paramount's movies in the UK.

I tell you what though, it's no wonder Universal have been selling their inventory so cheaply over the last two months! They've been clearing the decks to make way for the 'red tag' fat case versions. That said, Paramount UHD titles haven't gone anywhere near any sales, the tight bastards (as although Universal distribute their stuff, they have no say on how to price it up).

I really liked the slim cases they save so much space on the self i bet warner bros will do the same too On the other hand i do hope that universal's keeps there shiny slipcovers

The new editions contain a digital download, while previously it was just the 4k and the blu ray included.

Yep, same here. I've got the original slim-case editions of 2 Huntmans, 4 Bournes, Lucy, Oblivion, Lone Survivor & Everest and each one came with a UV digital copy. Which was promptly sold.
