True. They'll try anything to get more $$ out of us. Hope they didn't handicap the bluray version in anyway to add even more artificial incentive for the 4k version. I haven't seen any catalogue titles that this seemed to ever be the case which is good. |

Tough to push UHD for titles that most people won't buy if they give you the lesser option that most people are happy with. When even blu-ray enthusiasts on this forum aren't interested in the UHD, that's a sure sign the format will fail. |

Paying more to get something early really isn't the same thing. It's usually a promotional thing that comes with posters, etc. But again, no one is forcing anyone to buy anything, so whatever money people spend is their own doing, not the studios or anyone else's.

Hopefully this will sell well and Warner will begin to do Eastwood's catalog some justice. Id love to see the Dirty Harry films + Pale Rider and The Outlaw Josey Wales get re-mastered 2K or 4K issues.....

The BDs of Magnum Force, Sudden impact and The Outlaw Josey Wales are from 4K scans.

The fact that I would have to buy a new tv, player and amp, that is quite a big financial outlay. I have gone through VHS and dvd, I fully embraced bluray, but this is as far as I go for physical media. Due to my age and failing eyesight, I probably wouldn't see much difference between blu and UHD anyway. |
