Yes!!!! Exactly what I mean!!! I'm not a thief, coz I don't wanna end up ruining my life if I get caught! Also, i prefer to earn my stuff. And yeah, I might buy a stolen things, as long as there from a shop. Thats also why I never save money, I spend it as soon as I get it. You can die any moment.

ok Tbone, lets review the FIRST POST that I responded to. Employee said "this is stolen...because its worn" THATS IT. All i said is based on that, you cant conclude its stolen.

So you then say "I've seen it happen" and in a later post "to think it doesn't happen at all"...I NEVER SAID IT DOESNT HAPPEN, I'm just saying YOU CANT SAY A CONTROLLER IS STOLEN BECAUSE IT LOOKS NEW. If so, let me know next time you're going to gamestop and I'll watch you make citizens arrest on everyone trading in new stuff...

Actually, my point was that it was stolen because it wasn't worn, but turned in as used.

so yea we get many things stolen from Ps3 Controllers to PSP Memory sticks, and it doesnt help when they say "Yea im trading them in because my son was caught drinking stolen wine from the Church in school"

I don't know what it's like in all of your areas around the world, but around here, Pawn shops are watched very closely for stolen merchandise. In fact, they have to keep strict records on where they got the things, etc.

I'm beginning to wonder if this shouldn't be required of GameStop-type resale outlets as well.

Man, that sucks. I feel for you. That's way worse than what happened to me. After I got robbed, I moved out of the state I was living in too. Now I won't have house parties or have people over to my place that I don't fully trust. I have too much valuable stuff. Found out it was a tweaker that had been to one of my house parties that robbed me. That's one dirty, nasty drug. I won't buy stolen or suspected stolen property from anyone. Karma can be a *****.

It did cause the laundry bag was laying on the floor and I didn't know I lost it until I needed it to carry the laundry bag to carry the laundry downstairs,I'm like "where's the laundry bag?" then it dawned on me...the used it to ran sack my apartment.

So now I have a TV stand that will fit up to a 55 inch tv but I bought a cheap 32 inch Samsung LCD,just to have "something to watch" and then I bought a PS3 as well when I moved out, with these new nice tv's coming out,I won't have to worry about selling my old one...I'd like to see the look on the thieves' face when the lamp inside blows out,I canceled the extended warranty and got my $400 back..those lamps run about $250 each...

Heh, negative on that good buddy.

Ya gotta realize how large store volume can be if you want to start entertaining the idea of insuring your entire stock against theft [not product sold, but gross value of product stocked over a month].

Then, you get to add dealing with an insurance adjuster, every day. To determine if the number variance was due to theft, mis-reported product damage, or employee incompetance.

And given the employee turnover rate in retail, you're likely to find alot of times where the former employee who is no longer able to defend their actions because the responsible entity for the loss.

Anyway, you can't prove it. But the matter is alot of product that gets stolen, returns to the store, through their buy-back programs [quite often competitor's buy-back programs]. It sucks, but there ya go. You can't prove it, but you can 'know'. You can even know incorrectly.
