I never understood the hate for Skyler.

She undoubtedly gets on my nerves, but at the same time, I think she's the most complex character in the show. She goes from loving Walt, to being disgusted with him, to putting up with him, to fearing him. Not only that, but she's taking care of the kids, dealing with Flynn's constant attitude toward her (he's one of the best characters in the entire show btw), has to work, has to launder Walt's money, has to cook Ted's books, etc. It takes a toll on her and she ends up snapping.

If you don't like her by the end of the series, particularly when she decides that it's time to stand up to the monster, I don't think you ever will.

I literally cried for her last night when she was running down the road after Walt drove off with Holly.

I'm not saying she's evil...although I cannot categorically rule it out either.

Did she have a right to be angry at Walt for a great many things?

...of course.

But it was the way she repeatedly handled those situations by acting like a b****y teenager that really pushed my buttons throughout the show.

And let's not forget that, while the ultimate responsibility lies with Walt for doing what he did, Skyler was the one who in season one basically forced him to agree
[Show spoiler]to cancer treatment, even though he made it perfectly clear that what he wanted to stay at home and die in his own way. Walt viewed death as a way out of the defeated life that he had been living. But Skyler didn't care what Walt wanted, even though he was the one who had cancer. She cared about what she wanted. And by essentially forcing him into treatment, she robbed him of his way out and trapped him into a corner.

After that, he felt as though he had no choice but to use his time to figure out a way to provide security for the family after he was gone.

If Skyler had just respected his wishes from the beginning, it's entirely possible that none of the bad stuff would've happened.

Skyler was a victim...yes...but she was not entirely innocent.

Basically everyone in the show broke bad at some point, in their own way.

...she just happened to be the one acting like a b****y teenager every other scene.

Not innocent at all. Hell she did as much illegal shit as Walt did but as you said in a *****y holier than now attitude.

I'm trying to decide whether to keep my complete series digipak, so starting tonight I'm doing a BB marathon.

Haven't watched it in about two years.

Will be interesting to see how well it holds up now that I've got some distance from it.

I just hope I can handle Skyler for five full seasons crammed into the span of a week.

...I just hope I'm not driven to murder.

Considering how cheap I got the Digibook for, I am keeping the Blu's AND the Digital. One of those few shows you can't get rid of.

Watched the first three episodes from season one last night.

I forgot how funny BB could be.

It's amazing how dark the show became in the later seasons.

Although it has some dark moments, the first season is relatively lighthearted by comparison.

Glad I made a back-up of that fan edit since it was destined to get pulled.

Well it is dark comedy but yeah season 1 and 2 had a lot of funny material, much more then the rest of the show. I'd never give up my barrel and even though I am buying the Better Call Saul individual seasons I'll double dip for a nice collector set of the entire BCS set in the future.

Guys I'm sorry, but the first six episodes of season one have only reaffirmed my belief that the one they call Skyler is an agent of evil.

The
[Show spoiler]cancer treatment intervention scene alone
was enough to push me over the edge.

...that woman is the devil.

Her character gets a real polarizing understanding from the fans. On the one hand, her character is the sort that would thrive in Game of Thrones. On the other hand, it comes more as a reaction to the events she is involved in. It's very hard to really nail her character down except by the events that she reacts to.
