I just watched my copy of Drive-In Massacre last night. Man, who is doing the QC for these discs? There were so many mistakes in the subtitles. Not just spelling errors, but there were completely wrong words being transcribed. This isn't just Severin. I watched a BU disc a few weeks ago that was just as bad.

These weren't like auto CC subtitles, were they? I don't have the case to look at, and I can't seem to find the back cover anywhere online. Severin's site doesn't even mention subtitles. I hope they were and I'm wrong, because it seems like such a simple mistake to correct before you send the disc out for pressing.

The only reason I even had the subtitles on is because I had a very hard time making out what was being said on the 2.0 stereo track. Does anyone know if the audio quality is similar on the 88 Films release? I actually have that as well, but I haven't opened it.

Looking forward to Dark Waters. I still have my old DVD from York Entertainment. Which reminds me, they also released what is probably the best DTV horror film of the 90's, Kolobos. Another I'd love to have on Blu.

I've got the U.K. Metrodome DVD of Kolobos. Great film. I'd also like to see it on Blu!

Edit: Which I didn't know until now is not OAR

The most recent issue of Rue Morgue has a Severin ad which includes Dracula v. Frankenstein as a 'Coming Soon' title:

[Show spoiler]

(The photo is blurry because it is a close-up of a small portion of the ad.)

Does anyone know if this is the Naschy film (which I thought was coming from Code Red), another edition of the Al Adamson movie, or possibly the Franco film (under its alternate title)?

Adamson.

Severin had previously hinted at this on Facebook, just after Christmas.

I wish it was the Franco, just so the triumvirate of "Dracula vs. Frankenstein" films could be complete. At the rate Franco's films are making it to Blu-Ray, I imagine it's only a matter of time.

I'm actually more intrigued by Joe D'Amato's EMANUELLE AND THE LAST CANNIBALS next to it. Had that been previously announced anywhere? If so I completely missed it.

Great news about the release of both EMANUELLE AND THE LAST CANNIBALS and Adamson's DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN nonetheless.

It was announced a year ago, but I think this is the first time it's officially been 'coming soon' with disc/cover art posted. (I should add that the image I linked earlier is NSFW for the bit of Emanuelle's skin that snuck in!)

Do you mean 88 Films? The Shriek Show release never materialised, did it? Hence this release I'm assuming.

Okay, that makes sense. It seems Severin have a quite a few titles that were originally issued on DVD by Shriek Show over a decade ago. I wonder how many more they have?

I'd welcome Joe's D'Amato's IMAGES IN A CONVENT (1979), EROTIC NIGHTS OF THE LIVING DEAD (1980) and PORNO HOLOCAUST (1981) on Blu-ray.

If you want those two titles, you need to dive into the insanity that is the Code Red thread, as Bill has them lined up.

Ah, that's right, I think I had read somewhere that Code Red had EROTIC NIGHTS.... Thanks for the reminder. I wonder who has IMAGES?

It was released in December.

Regarding their own release, Severin told me:

Right, but Walt (from Scorpion Releasing) was referring to Dracula vs. Frankenstein in his response (which I should have specified in my response).

The bottom line is that the Rue Morgue ad pretty much confirms that Severin will be unleashing their own editions of both DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN and EMANUELLE AND THE LAST CANNIBAL on Blu-ray sooner or later, which is great. Severin are on a roll at the moment.
