Default "Good" Movies That You Have No Desire to See

Are there any movies that you are pretty sure they're good based on the consensus, but you just have zero desire to check out? Mine would definitely be La La Land. It takes a miracle to get me to watch a musical.

Feels like we just did this with the whole "Oscar winners you don't wanna see," but anyway, I stand by what I said there: if I'm in the mood, I'm down for just about anything. Other than Human Centipede or Date Movie or something like those, I can't imagine anything I absolutely would never wanna see (and those don't have consensus "good" status anyway lol).

This is a more "movies in general" thread...not just Oscar winners.

I'll even point out that if I saw LLL, there's a big possibility that I would enjoy it...but I just can't get excited to watch it.

I'm definitely a "mood" guy, so I get what you're saying. A movie could be a masterpiece but if I don't feel like watching it, I won't enjoy it. Leads to many a long stretch standing in front of my shelves or flipping through Netflix tryna figure out what to watch sometimes...

Back when Inception came out and a year or two after, I had a friend who never saw it and didn't want to and when asked why he had no desire to watch it his reason was "Everyone says that it's a good movie, so I know it's good, so I don't need to watch it to see that it's good"

I saw this one...and thought it was highly overrated. One thing I appreciated was how it dealt with grief and of course Affleck's performance, but it just felt way too long when it didn't need to be.

I've still never seen a single Star Wars or Lord of the Rings film, and I never will.

La La Land
Manchester BTS
Moonlight

I still haven't seen The King's Speech.

...and that won the Academy Award for best picture.

You are an agent of evil.

You should run for president.

...you'd probably win.

King's Speech is good except that it takes place over like 15 years and the kids never age. Yet somehow it was better directed than The Social Network. Go figure.

Manchester was an incredible film (minus a caveat with the ending) but yeah, can't begrudge someone for not wanting to watch it. Not a pleasant experience, and it stays with you for a while.

The man is an acting genius!!!!

No actor in the last 30 years has possessed the ability to emote, to engender pathos and to reveal the underlying secret of the human condition like Casey Affleck.

Should've won for Ocean's Thirteen, what an incredible transformation.
