It looks like the HD transfer of 'The Peanut Butter Solution' and its dubbed counterpart 'Opération beurre de pinottes' have been made available through Éléphant/Illico in Québec on their pay-per-view channel/website. The widescreen trailer, although only in 720x408, still looks fantastic. Too bad I live stateside, because La Fete has no plans to put out a Blu-ray of this movie any time soon.

@KindredCoda

i saw the hd tranfert of ''la guerre des tuques'' (the dog that stopped the war) and ''Bach et Botinne'' (Bach and Broccoli) and they are both amazing transferts and a new ''tales for all'' movie has been shot last year (the 24th)
''la gang des hors la lois'' (english title translation : the outlaws gang)
here the official facebook page of the movie https://www.facebook.com/lagangdeshorslaloi
it seems Mr Demers has no plan to stop making movies

WOAH!!! Talk about a mindjob!!!

Like someone mentioned above, I remember having seen this strange film but have no recollection of the actual film itself.

I remember seeing this movie in the mid-to-late 80's. I think we rented it and then it ended up being shown on TV a bunch. It was a creepy little flick. I had burned into my memory the stuff with the bald kid(and correct me if I'm wrong, but it looked like he actually shaved his dome for the role), the other kids laughing at him at the soccer game, the hair that wouldn't stop growing, and the Signor kidnapping all those kids. Plus the terrible Celine Dion song over the closing credits.

I did see a few minutes of this on YouTube a few years ago and was surprised to see that dude from Battlestar Galactica as I think the kid's dad. I also spotted him as the doctor at the beginning of The Cutting Edge who tells D.B. Sweeney he has to stop playing professional hockey.

Maybe there's a chance to convince one of the smaller companies (Kino Lorber, Shout! Factory, Arrow, Severin) to license this from Le Fete and release this on Blu?

If you do a search for Montreal Hunt Club, there are some interesting photos.

I read this thread a couple weeks ago after thinking about it. I haven't seen this forever and not many people even know what I'm talking about when I mention this movie.

I loved this movie when I was a kid. Had it on VHS, taped. But someone erased it a few years ago.

Nice. 'Peanut Butter' made my list for the 'Fantasy' voting list. Tommy Tricker too.

Now, there's a movie I've been looking for ages, I remember the rainbow being an important part of it and people crawling out of cocons or something, turning into butterflies. Could that be 'The Great Land of Small'? Would be great if that's the one, finnaly knowing what it was.

DEP took their page down, and I can't get a definitive answer on whether this Blu-ray actually exists:

Alamo Drafthouse San Francisco is having a showing in 35mm, on December 6th:

https://drafthouse.com/sf/show/weird...utter-solution

It’ll probably contain the extended scenes that were cut out of the home video versions.

I found a bootleg copy at goodwill last year. I was pretty amazed and literally gasped. I mean, it was in a dvd case with a cheap printed cover, and it's a rip from probably youtube. Still I couldn't believe it when I saw it sitting in the basket of movies.
The bluray looks nice for a movie no one I know ever saw, or even knows exist. Tommy Tricker actually brought me to this thread. I see it and PBS are available to rent in hd on itunes.
