I don't like it when B&W films are colorised either but if that's all there is in 3D then I'll take it.

I'd probably have bought that version if it had been cheaply available at the time I bought the single disc version, but the fact is that I will never watch this film in 2D.

My latest arrival is Vikingdom

Watched:
Assassin's Creed 3D- I liked NOTHING about it, unfortunately, and It's very rare for me to not like a movie. In fact, I tell people I am not a good movie critic because I like almost every movie I see!

I had another bad migraine last night which could certainly have affected my judgement but I could find no discernible plot, the 3D was very mild and while waiting for it to make more sense or to get more entertaining the movie suddenly ended.

I plan to go back and watch it again this weekend and hopefully I will have more to say! Maybe I needed to play the video game in order to appreciate the movie? The last movie I liked this little was Ratchet & Clank which was also based on a video game...

Purchased:
Blufans Romeo & Juliet
Blufans Moulin Rouge
X-Men First Class 4K
Those Red Heads from Seattle 3D (pre-ordered)
Planet Earth 2 4K (re-ordered after cancelling)

Received:
Lion of Judah 3D
RIPD 3D ( had in a 3-pack but wanted individual lenticular slip)
Toy Story 2 3D (finally found with Lenticular Slip at decent price!!!!!)

^ you should certainly go back, the 3d for one isn't mild.

Ratchet and Clank I wouldn't really say was based on the game beyond how the characters looked. It had the soul of the game torn out of it and replaced it with generic Hollywood bollocks. With Assassin's Creed it will no doubt help if you play the games (as it is all part of the same canon), but it really isn't needed.

I think its a matter of different TV's handling the dark with bright spots differently causing the differing 3D opinions. Even the site reviewer mentions similar sentiments. Assassins Creed looked beautiful on the OLED.

Default Assassin's Creed

I like the look of the movie and the 3d was nice, but I couldn't stay awake for the life of me. I popped it in yesterday for a few minutes and nearly fell asleep but had to go do something. I tried watching it immediately after work today and fell asleep. Finally finished it tonight but nodded off a couple of times during the movie. The movie has plenty of action but I just was completely bored by it. The goofy plot didn't help.

The original's video game story is different than, but similar to, the movie. You definitely don't need to play it to appreciate the movie. I found playing the games much more enjoyable than the film though with Assassin's Creed II being a favorite.

Hi gang.

Today was a rarity. Didn't watch a 3D movie. Saw Pinocchio instead.

I beg your forgiveness.

the 3d in dragon ball z: resurrection f is pretty poor, a very inconsistent conversion.

I was surprisingly impressed with Predator. The last time I saw it was on cable and DVD and both the Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray are MAJOR improvements.

I thought the jungle environment would be really tough for a post-conversion but they did a really good of providing multiple layers of depth throughout. I was expecting something closer to a German auto-conversion where two layers are barely discernible. This is one of my favorite action movies from the 80's and has so many memorable lines. 3D made it more immersive and even more enjoyable!

My pain levels have been out of control but I finally got a break tonight.... I'll just put my comments together.

I appreciate everyone's thoughts on Assassins Creed 3D. It definitely deserves another watch because I've liked everything Fassbender has done and was surprised he would sign up to do something sub-par (although Shame left me feeling inadequate)! I might try watching it on the OLED as well instead of my Sammy. It's interesting how different technologies can provide different experiences with the same film!

Everett - I'm SO jealous. I had pre-ordered the Japanese 3D but when it was confirmed Best Buy had exclusive distribution and only in the 4K/3D format I decided I needed show my support by purchasing EVERY US 3D release, so I changed my order.

Joe - I LOVED the remastered Pinocchio! In fact, I bought it twice! The regular release from Disney Movie Club (with lithograph) and the Lenticular slip from Best Buy which is really really nice!

There is a new petition asking Samsung to add 3D back to its flagship QLED televisions. I know most of you guys are LG OLED groupies but PLEASE SIGN IT FOR THE SAKE OF 3D! If you need the link please PM me!

I don't have ANY of those. Tai Chi, Dragon Ball Z and Sadako 2 are on my list but I have never heard of the others.

I'm keen to hear your thoughts so please let us know. Sadako 1 wasn't great but was worth the $10 I paid for it and I've been curious but hesitant about the others.

Default The last 3D Blu-ray you Bought or Watched Thread

Just ordered Monster Hunt. Should have it by the 28th. Has anybody seen it? $19.99 at Best Buy. English version and I used rewards points to drop it down to $10. Figured I give it a look. Running out of 3d Blu Rays to buy.

I always say make up your own mind. I know for a fact i'll enjoy AC just from the trailer as I love period action adventure. Having 3D is the icing on the cake. Some of my favourite movies were panned by virtually everybody. If I like a trailer, that's enough for me and I don't care what anyone else says. I'll always make up my own mind, especially as my tastes are slightly different from a lot of people. If I listened to everyone else all the time I'd never have seen some of the best movies in my collection.

For example in 2015 everyone said Pan and Terminator Genisys were absolutely terrible movies but they both made my top five of the year, no kidding. Especially Pan which I think is one of the best fantasy movies I've ever seen!

I'm not having a pop at you Rocky but I know you ask for other people's opinions a lot and that's cool, testing the water so to speak, gauging people's thoughts on something, it does make sense. I just think it's a shame to dismiss something just based on what some other's think without making your own mind up. I mean if for example you're the kind of person that always agrees with the general consensus on movies I can understand it a bit more. However there must have been instances of you watching a movie that got panned by many, only for you to find that you really enjoyed it? I always seem to feel differently to the consensus so that's why it's important to me to make my own mind up. I admit it can be an expensive way of finding out if you like something, by blind buying a lot but I am very rarely disappointed and I rarely regret a purchase. I look at the talent involved, the actors, the trailer and that's enough for me. Perhaps it helps that I love action movies and adventure and fantasy and VFX so one could say I'm easily pleased, but whatever as long as I enjoy it that's all that matters to me.

Back to AC, the trailer was awesome, a lot of people here say the 3D is awesome, i'll be buying it day one and I guarantee I'm really going to enjoy it. I am that confident about it. Yet everyone tells me Captain America Civil War is amazing film but I just didn't care for it, go figure!
