Also, what purely horror genre titles with Proce haven't been released yet? Besides The Tingler? Thanks!
Boggle did a decent job summarizing CONFESSIONS OF AN OPIUM EATER in the post on the previous page. It's more akin to HOUSE OF 1000 DOLLS (both exploitation films with mildly sleazy elements and a Crime Thriller backdrop to the story). "Opium Eater" was directed by Albert Zugsmith, a well-known producer/director of many highly-regarded B movies. The "drug trip/hallucination" stuff was fairly out there for the time of its release.

THE TINGLER is really the only "pure" horror title left of his, I believe. There are still some titles of interest to people who rabidly collect genre films, such as "Opium Eater", HOUSE OF THE SEVEN GABLES, THE STORY OF MANKIND, THE BIG CIRCUS, THE BRIBE, SON OF SINBAD, LAS VEGAS STORY, SHOCK and probably a few others I'm forgetting at the moment.

Yeah, the cover art is from the memorable one-sheet poster for the film. Every one of the MGM M.O.D. DVD-R's that I got with Price ended up getting released on Blu-ray, so hopefully OPIUM EATER will follow suit.

Exactly, which is why I held off. I felt burned when I bought their editions of The Incredible Melting Man and Rolling Thunder only for those to get proper blu-ray releases.

It's a shame that Leave Her To Heaven is OOP. Caught it on TCM awhile back and it's a great movie (psychological mystery drama). Price doesn't play an enormous role, but he's there for a decent part of the movie if I remember correctly.

Maybe somehow it will come back in print some time. The online prices are pretty high... not Vincent Price Collection Vol. I high... but it's up there.

Has there been ANY talk over at Scream Factory or by other labels about Vincent Price Collection I coming back from being OOP?

Was it ever established for sure why it went OOP? I thought it was due to losing the license for 1-2 of the movies... but not sure which one's... or even if that was the case to begin with.

You probably already know this is on the Vincent Price Collection III Blu-ray set... but just wanted to make sure in case

Definitely a different movie than from Price's horror genres... but I liked it when I watched it. A fun flick.

Thanks!

I've not really started a Vincent Price Collection but, I do have a couple of those "Collections" on my Amazon wish list
as a placeholder kind of thing for quick reference.

I do have House on Haunted Hill and Last Man On Earth

But I have seen oh so many of them.

It would be cool to have a section for international releases. I got a late start on my blu-ray collection and unfortunately by then Vol.1 of the Vincent Price collection was already out of print. These are a good option for those of us that are region-free.

They really are great. The intros/outros VP did for an Iowa PBS station back in the 80s (I think 80s) are among my favorite supplements from any release.

I don't believe it was ever revealed which film it was that they lost the rights to. You would think it'd be worth it to reissue it with the 5 other titles, due to the popularity of this release. Then again, they may feel that they sold close to the number they would have sold anyway. These releases aren't going to sell tons of copies. Just because it's fetching high prices now doesn't necessarily mean there are that many folks out there still dying to own it.

Hello, Great Owl!

Have you seen this film? I posted this earlier today, but it probably won't get seen too much now as it's on the previous page:

I've never seen 1988's DEAD HEAT. I'm guessing it's probably not worth owning if you're only interested in it for V.P., but can someone tell me what role he plays, and if it's somewhat substantial, or just a scene or two?

Vincent Price has a big roll in More Dead Than Alive Clint Walker has top billing but Price does a great job with his roll of course

Thanks, Boggle, for posting all those international covers. I've heard about some of them, but not having a region-free player, I didn't know which were which. Love some of those covers. I've heard some of the extras are a lot better than those here in the States, would you say that's true?

I was wondering the same thing...

Also, how about Monster Club and also From A Whisper To A Scream? Are these: 1) any good? 2) do these feature much of Price... or is it pretty small roles? Thanks!

Every single Arrow release has far better extras. A few people say "I like the PBS intros more than everything they have so the US extras are better," but I disagree strongly. They're usually about 5 minutes of VHS converted footage of Price talking, which is nice, but I'd take the extensive ones on all those Arrows. I have no idea about extras on that version of Witchfinder General.
